Here's Nine Minutes Of This Means War, For Some Reason

McG's latest magnum opus arrives on Valentine's Day, but that doesn't mean that you can't see 10% of it right now.

In yet another example of "hey, let's throw a bunch of random footage from our film together and slap it on the internet" (you'll recall that Red Tails tried something similar recently), McG and the marketing team at FOX have decided to give out nine minutes of This Means War to French website Allocine.com. It's not the first nine minutes of the film, but rather nine minutes of various clips, including one complicated-looking long take. (You'll want to full-screen this thanks to the funky embed, and ensure that the HD switch is flipped on.) I can't really tell if the movie looks like it'll be mildly watchable or absolutely insufferable, but then I suppose that that's the perils of commercial filmmaking.

Pretty soon they'll be putting an entire movie up except for the twist ending, which you'll have to go theatres to see. lol

Because we're unsure of our movie, let's see if we can gauge some internet reactions by releasing nine minutes of our movie.

My wife will definitely want to see this movie because of Reese Witherspoon. I'm actually happy about that, because I want to see this because of Tom Hardy and Chris Pine despite deep reservations that it will suck horribly.

Wow, that reads way gayer than it sounded in my head.

Releasing 10 minutes worth of footage before a film is released always smacks of marketing desperation to me. This movie looks absolutely insufferable from the TV spots.

Does this actually work for anyone? The embed isn't doing anything and I haven't been able to find the source on the site... I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

EDIT: nvm, I found a working version elsewhere.

I kinda want MGM to go out business for shit like this. Bond was better off exclusively at Sony, instead of this "Let's share him! Give us some money to stay open!" agreement MGM and Sony have.

Chelsea Handler is in it Rorie. That automatically makes it insufferable.

i'm not gonna watch the first 9 mins but i wouldn't mind seeing this in cinemas, Charlies Angels 1 was passable stupid entertainment and McG redeemed himself with the reasonably decent Terminator Salvation, so i give him a pass for now. This film, seemed quite good in the trailers ... The mrs will watch this because of Tom Hardy i reckon.

i guess im the only one who thought the clip was pretty funny. I laughed a lot. I guess I have bad taste.

Witherspoon's acting was awful though. As usual.

I would just love to bash Chelsea in the face with a cinder block after she yells "Sex Tiebreaker".  If they could of used anyone else for the wacky best friend this movie would of looked pretty fun for a Romantic Comedy.
Seriously couldn't they have get Kaitlin Olsen from Always Sunny or the fat chick from Brides Maids?

I saw a preview of this last year and it wasn't the best movie but it was entertaining. I'll definitely be taking my girlfriend to see it.

When sushi becomes art as much as it is food, the art of presenting it on film becomes transformative not only to the cuisine, but the people who make it.
