Looper is out today, and some other things, but really, Looper is out today!

I must say I don't know that I have been as excited for a movie in a while as I am about Looper. (Matt Marko's Review coming soon)There is something about that just feels like it is going to be….awesome and most of all original. In a cinematic climate filled with sequels, adaptations and comic book heroes, it is nice to have a big action film that looks completely unpredictable. The reviews for the movie are pretty stellar as it is currently ranking at a 92% fresh. Also, who couldn't love a good time travel film, especially one directed by Rian Johnson?

Also opening this weekend is the Sony Pictures animated film Hotel Transylvania, and is a another collaboration starring Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg. After this and That's My Boy, I wonder if they should just stop working together?!

The Anna Kendrick comedy Pitch Perfect looks to be the limited release fav as the Glee in college film that is getting surprisingly good reviews. Do we have a new Bring It On for singing here?

1. Looper

Could this be the next Inception-like hit? With the appearance of JGL and Mr. Willis the potential is certainly there!

2. Hotel Transylvania

Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Inisible Man and some wervewolves party it up in a 5 stake hotel.

3. Won't Back Down

Two women attempt to transform the inner city school system and I only wish it was a true story.

4. Pitch Perfect

Get Pitch Slapped!

5. Solomon Kane

Captain Solomon Kane – the efficient 16th Century killing machine, looks scarier than any monster I've seen recently.

6. The Hole

Joe Dante directs this 3D thriller that explores the fears and secrets buried deep within the human mind. Dane, his brother and the obviously pretty neighbor, Julie, discover a hole in the basement of their new house that unleashes evil and nightmares and all things scary.

7. Headshot

A hit-man gets shot in the head (get it…"Head-Shot") and awakes from a coma and begins seeing everything upside-down. He then has a crisis trying to figure out if his condition is medical or karmic retribution.

8. The Other Dream Team

The documentary film that follows the story of the 1992 Lithuanian Olympic basketball team that helped their country break free from the shackles of communism.

I can't wait to see Looper, and that's because the reviews have been so stellar. I'm planning to watch it next week, because I'm going to Chico, California for a two-day vacation with my parents this weekend.

Hey, I grew up there! Crazy, I never thought I'd hear mention of Chico, CA on this website of all places.

I'm thinking about seeing Looper tonight, probably one of my most anticipated movies for the back-half of this year.

I watched Looper last night. It was better than I expected.

I've been keeping an eye out for a stateside release of Solomon Kane, but it's not showing in my area.

Guess I'll have to wait and see if it gets a DVD release.

Dig Deeper into Looper

A futuristic hitman (Gordon-Levitt) recognizes one of his targets as his future self (Willis) and hesitates, letting the mark escape.
