I wish more shows would be like The Pitch or even Undercover Boss. Revealing actual reality and not the fake situations we see on shows like The Real World or Real Housewives. I'd rather see the real "dirty truths" in how companies we trust run and operate. Often times we see them more as complex bureaucracies made up of hard working people once we see behind the scenes. The Pitch is pretty good at just letting the reality rear it's head, albeit probably one edited for television. You can watch as the person with the worst sounding idea gets the brunt of the responsibility and how real advertising campaigns can be pushed out the door despite still being terrible. At least for me, it's absolutely fascinating.
New To Instant Streaming
|1. House of Cards|
In case you somehow didn't hear, the second season of Netflix's flagship show is now on streaming. I'm still managing my way through the newest season but I hope to write something on this season soon afterward. It's, of course, still on par in terms of quality. A definite must watch show.
|2. The Pitch|
Season 2 of this underrated AMC show is now on streaming. Taking it's themes from Mad Men, this is a reality show following real advertising firms developing and giving their pitches to companies. It's deeply interesting to watch how advertisers and marketers form their voice and how stressful the job can be, and how easily it can all go wrong.
A Sofia Coppola film from 2010. The film follows Johnny who isn't living the clean cut kind of life, that is until his 11 year old daughter finds him. This film is a comedy/drama and received relatively warm critical reviews. Seems like a worthy choice for those nights where you don't know what to watch.
