Some changes have come to the instant update you get weekly. Ever since Netflix changed their API it has become nearly impossible to determine when things will be leaving the service across their huge catalog. Paired with that they have switched their focus from gaining new titles on instant and instead focus on original titles. This all leaves this update almost toothless. Luckily I recently upgraded to an Amazon Prime account and now I'll be updating both streaming services. Amazon doesn't readily hand out their information either but I gathered what I could as a new user of the service. If someone knows how to mine out the expiring soon and coming soon information from Amazon, please PM me or comment below!
New To Instant Streaming
1. Silent Hill: Revelation 3D
Netflix: The first in this series based off of a classic video game franchise was actually pretty good. I never heard how this sequel fared which makes me wonder if it was any good at all.
2. Tyler Perry's Madea's Witness Protection
Netflix: Is Madea so good that you should watch it? No. Is it one of a few things actually added to Netflix? Yes. These movies make themselves a good chunk of change so someone out there may enjoy them.
Expiring Soon from Amazon Prime
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze
After the success of the original Secret of the Ooze looked to capitalize on the turtles new fame. Unfortunately this sequel is much more comedic and campy than the darker toned original. That said it's still a fun trip down memory lane for anyone who grew up in the 90's.
Somehow the Underworld franchise really took off. The story about a secret war between werewolves and vampires caught a lot of viewers attention. Go back to the one that started it all before it's too late.
3. The American President
This should be thought as a prelude to The West Wing. Written by Aaron Sorkin and even featuring some of the sets that eventually would be use on the hit show, this movie gives a feeling you rarely get. Sure this focuses more on romance but the writing alone is a reason to catch this one.
4. Dumb and Dumber
A comedy classic that still mostly holds up. Even though we heard this week the sequel had been passed on we can relive the magic.
