One of my favorite podcasts to listen to, is, Scriptnotes – a podcast about screenwriting and things that are interesting to screenwriters. It is a weekly show hosted by John August(Big Fish, Corpse Bride) and Craig Mazin(Identity Theif,Hangover II and III) where they talk about a bit of news but mainly talk about the mechanics of screenwriting and other things that would be interesting to screen writers.
Recently John August and guest host Aline Brosh McKenna(Devil Wears Parda) had Jennifer Lee the writer and co-director of Frozen. Which is a movie you may of heard of, it’s made a ton of money and basically made “Princess Movies” interesting again. The majority of the episode is centered around the production process of writing and cracking Frozen on a compacted time table. That movie went through many different states. As it turns out John Lasseter is an excellent source for animation reference. This is the kind of stuff I nerd out on and the kind of peek behind the doors that are rather useful.
