Noticeably absent from the announcement are Perfect Couples, which has routinely underperformed (and is godawful), and Outsourced, which debuted well, but has since shed the bulk of its viewers, perhaps as a result of airing at 10:30 PM, a tough slot for a comedy, and perhaps as a result of being unbearable. Deadline is saying that NBC has no fewer than 13 more comedy pilots coming down the pipe, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see some new blood on Thursday nights next season.
Also in renewal news: SyFy's U.S. adaptation of the British show Being Human is apparently coming back around for another season. The show's title is ironic because none of the characters are human, per se; they're a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost. I just thought I'd explain that to you. You know, in case you were wondering.
