A lot of classics are making their way back, or for the first time, to Netflix and after that May 1st exodus of films it's nice to see quality instead of quantity replacing it. You don't have to worry about much leaving Netflix anytime soon and hopefully in the weeks to come Netflix can keep this kind of quality continually coming to the service.
New To Netflix
This film noir classic returns to instant streaming. Do yourself a favor and just watch this movie. It's a great mystery that captures the noir style incredibly well and features a wonderful performance by a young Jack Nicholson.
2. Pulp Fiction
A Tarantino classic that tells it's tales separately but ties them together beautifully. Featuring Tarantino's cliche violence and language it was the movie that made him a mainstream name. If you haven't seen Pulp Fiction just do it right now...no seriously...go watch it.
3. Dirty Dancing
About to go all Swayze on you. The 80's classic about teenagers who dance to sexy in a town that has banned dancing. Really you don't come to this for the story, you come for some Swayze but you stay for the dancing.
4. Street Fighter
Is it the best video game movie of all time? Probably. The story feels slapped together and only exists to put these fighting characters together in one room. Every one of your favorite characters are there and each one gets their time to shine and kick ass. It never hurts to go back to a time when these movies were possible.
May 9th: Out of the handful of movies expiring this is the only real standout. A psychological thriller about ghosts inhabiting a young boy's body while he is in a coma. It wasn't reviewed well but for those horror fans out there sometimes you want a cheap but decent scary movie, so hopefully this is it for you.
