Dracula’s going down again. Deadline’s reported that the WB is putting together a new feature about the Count that does actually warrant being called a “re-imagining.” It would turn Jonathan Harker, the doomed barrister from Stoker’s novel, into a detective for Scotland Yard who’s on the bloodsucker’s trail. I’m sure Dracula putting the moves on his fiancé would make this investigation that much more personal...
Notably, this would be Jaume Collet-Serra’s directorial follow-up to next week’s " Liam Neeson puts the hurt on" flick, Unknown, and Leo DiCaprio would be one of the producers. Their last co-production was that creepy kid flick, Orphan, whose twist centered on the question of “Just how old is this lil' hellcat?”
I do seriously question how many more valid angles are left to put on Dracula, since Van Helsing and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen have already re-envisioned the other two major humans in the story into active protagonists. However, this script’s supposedly got a lot of buzz on it and I was once highly dubious of the reasoning behind re-starting Star Trek and then had to eat all my words about it, so execution over inspiration, the proof's in the pudding and all that...

Easy.
