Paquin and Bell Jump on Board the Cameo-fest that is Scream 4

Two more blond actresses join the Scream 4 pig-pile.

This is apropos of pretty much nothing, but still. Codpiece.

In terms of casting news, Wes Craven's Scream 4 has only been rivaled by upcoming comic book movies in terms of pure volume of reports. The difference, though, is that at least with the comic movies, those have a built-in and invested fan base eager to hear what actor or actress will take on the mantle of portraying their favorite superhero. With the Scream movies, it's just young, attractive actors (at least sort of marginally, hello Matthew Lillard!) who are going to die grisly deaths.

Anyhow, Heat Vision reports that True Blood star Anna Paquin, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Kristen Bell will be joining the ensemble, which is currently shooting in Michigan. They will reportedly only be making brief cameos ala Drew Barrymore in the original Scream. Haters of True Blood (or Paquin specifically) will likely get a kick out of seeing her eviscerated in the film, amiright?

Also included in the casting story was the staggering current length of the Scream 4 script: 140 pages. Going by the page-per-minute rule, that 2 hours and 20 minutes of self-aware, celebutarded slasher film.

Filming will wrap up towards the end of September.

I'm actually excited for this film. I felt really nostalgic when I saw 3 last week.

i hope scream 4 is good, the last one was pretty good and since then i haven't seen much good in the horror genre. i think scream 3 was the last horror movie i saw with a sympathetic character in it.

I'm sure they can make it good.

I don't know if I can handle 2+ hours of Craven anymore.

I demand for a Scream marathon! Like the one they did for Twilight.

Dig Deeper into Scream 4

New Decade, New rules. The Story takes place a decade later, focusing on Sidney who has mostly put her life back together in the course of these 10 years. But, there would be no Scream without Ghostface, resulting in a confrontation with the protagonist.
