Who was a father I missed in my article Honoring Some of the Best and Worst Fathers in Film? Yup, that's right Bryan Mills. How could I have forgotten one of the most bad-ass dads in cinema history that would do anything to rescue his daughter. The poster for Taken 2 was revealed and shows what we can look forward to and I think it is what we would all want; some more Bryan Mills action. In fact, they don't need much else to sell the film besides a shadowy image of Liam Neeson and the tagline: "First they took his daughter. Now they're coming for him".
When I heard they were doing a sequel, I was psyched, but then also nervous because how can it really make sense if his daughter gets kidnapped, yet again. I was worried they were going to go all Jack Bauer, "there is a nuclear bomb threat once a year" on us. But instead, they worked it out, and in a way that like it could be a pretty awesome. The second film will continue the story of the first and follow the events after the retired CIA operative rescued his daughter from kidnapping by a sex trafficking ring in the original film. He pissed off and killed a lot of people while getting her out of that situation and now they want revenge. As a result, he and his ex-wife are now taken hostage and he must work with his daughter to rescue themselves. Sounds like a pretty cool and interesting twist, as long as they can make it work in a way that makes sense.
This movie was kind of a sleeper hit and made more money than anyone first expected, but since it was awesome, I am looking forward to another. It will be released in theaters on October 5th.

Though I don't really want a sequel to Taken, I'll take it anyway because I love watching Liam Neeson kicking ass. Unknown was rubbish.
I'm on board.
I'm already on board. I am a big fan of Liam Neeson, because he is such an awesome actor, and action star.
Thank god it's not about her getting taken again.
When will people learn to stop taking his shit away from him?
So excited for this, Liam Neeson can be my daddy any day.
Wow such a boring poster.
The motherfucker who directed the shitshow Colombiana is taking the helm? Fuck that. I'm out.

Liam Neeson does not care for the tone in your voice. Look at that poster. Look at how angry and brooding he is about it.
I'm all for more Taken...so long as the body count is insanely through the roof and Liam Neeson kills the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn...repeatedly...with a shard of mirror...infected with AIDS...and tetanus.
@jakob187: COLOMBIANA. NEVER FORGET.
