The Academy Awards are this Sunday, and even if we might as well go ahead and give The Artist everything, that doesn't mean that we can't tune into the show and get a bit of enjoyment out of the proceedings, right? ...right?
Alright, so these Oscars are kind of a foregone conclusion (maybe), but hopefully there'll be some entertainment value to it. It's the glitziest night in show business, and even if it is often an exercise in rampant self-congratulation, it's still fun to see the unexpected victories and the people you've loved forever finally get their due. Or, they could decide to give Channing Tatum an honorary Oscar. Anything could happen! Well, not really.
I don't really know what I'm getting at here, aside from the fact that I wanted to remind you that we'll be doing our second annual Academy Awards live-stream host thingamabob here on Sunday. We're not able to actually broadcast the awards, of course, but if you want to watch a couple of dudes sit on a couch, drink, and suck out whatever solemnity and grace there is out of the ceremonies, that is an option that you will have. Alex is still in the snow-filled, frozen climes of New York, but I'll be joined by my friend Justin (Fake Pope from last year, if you recall), who doesn't go to see movies ever and will have no idea what's going on. So at least we'll get some outsider perspective. You are freely permitted to make fun of him.
Who knows, maybe we'll give away some crap! Tune in around 5:30 PM PST or 8:30 PM EST on Sunday night to catch the festivities.

I'm torn. I love Screened live streams and community events. But I hate the Oscars so much it's stunning. I'll probably not watch. Sorry guys, it is a school night after all.

Argh, I'm torn as well. I'm sure the show itself will suck as I'm not all that invested in most of the Best Picture nominees (Tintin was robbed!) but then again, The Walking Dead will be new and that show is pretty great. What to do, what to do...

On another note, if any top men can Shanghai together a video stream with Alex for the event, I know the fans of the site would appreciate it. Drinking wine last year, watching the Oscars with Rorie, Alex and Fake Pope was amazing.
I just got back from watching The Artist and if that movie doesn't win everything including best documentary and animated short I'll be pissed.
Will definitely attend the stream tomorrow (Especially with Fake/Majin Pope's return)! <3 Hopefully, this year's will be fun too.
