I still haven't gotten around to finally watching an episode or two of Rick and Morty. Clearly Cartoon Network already considers Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland's cartoon a success even though it's still going through its first season. The show has already been getting good ratings, better even than Harmon's beloved Community, and those who have seen it are usually raving about it. Now the show is getting a second season.
Cartoon Network has found a new market with these most adult oriented cartoons that are generally safe enough for children to watch. Shows like Adventure Time and The Regular Show have spawned legions of loyal fans all across the internet probably due to the void of cartoons many of us grew up with like Ren and Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life. Kids usually can tell when they're being talked down to and when you hit a certain age you're done with the usual cartoons company's trod out to impress you.
Good to see Dan Harmon succeeding in his ventures since Community, despite being incredible, was seemingly mismanaged by NBC. I guess today you need to escape modern TV as quickly as possible to survive.
