Yeah, I've been lurking recently, waiting to decide whether to continue actively participating on Screened, and so far it has not been good with how drab it's been, and this is the nail in the coffin. So, who is Dick Clark? Why should I care that he died? What did he pioneer? I mean, fuck, what dd he die from? Yeah, pretty awful news article, new Screened. Hugely disappointed.

I've got to agree with everyone here. This is very sparse. The site has been very sparse since Matt left. I think the main problem is the new writers haven't introduced themselves, pictures, movie genre they like, hobbies outside of movie watching. It seems like the site is being run by an automatic robot with a couple fill in the blank articles each week.

Whiskey Media is about staff / reader interactions, most of the articles seem sterile and corporate monotone. I don't feel any emotions from any of the new writers.

also on the article why was he a pioneer in television history? What where his influences in pop culture? There is no cause of death mentioned, for all readers know he was hit by an out of control tanker truck driven by the incredible hulk < 10 points for the reference >. If you mention Dick Clarks Rocking New Years Eve, when was it started, how many years did clark host, who took over? Maybe a link to some memorable moments from his last couple years as host.

That's the type of information an article like this should have.

I must say that this headline reporting style isn't doing Screened any favours - where's the content? As an Australian, I have no idea who Dick Clark is and had to go to another site to find out as well as the rest of the story surrounding his death.

If you're not going to have a serious stab at an article or news item, best to leave it alone rather than putting up sloppy stuff like this.

Sad that the majority of the comments here are longer than the 'article' itself.

Who was he? How did he die? Why should I care? What did he do? Where did he die? These are questions I learned to answer in the first grade when writing something.

Guys, I really think it's over for us here. I think this article should read "R.I.P. Screened" because fuck man, this site is dogshit now.

Dick Clark deserves a hell of a lot more than this, he's a goddamn legend.

I don't think anyone's working full or even part time for Screened anymore, only explanation I can think of. We get 2 TV write-ups a week (Mad Men + Game of Thrones) of mostly plot summary, a daily "what's on tonight!", a weekly "what's out this week!". Nothing looks like it took more than 10 minutes to write. Not even a movie review yet (the outsourced and awful Cabin In The Woods one sure doesn't count). No "news" is more than a quickly thrown up paragraph. The rest is just trailers.

If you guys are working full time on this thing, put some fucking effort into it. I've been hanging around hoping for a sign of improvement, direction...anything, and you guys clearly couldn't care less.
