It may be a longer wait before you can see the movie form of captain tripps and Randall Flagg. An upcoming adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Stand, possibly one of his best known for novels, may be hitting a wall after current director and writer Scott Cooper, known for directing and writing Crazy Heart, has decided to leave the project. No reason was given why he decided to leave but some sources indicate it was differences in content. Cooper was striving for a R rated film while others wanted a more tame rating for the movie.
I've always thought of The Stand as one of those un-filmable books. The version I have sitting on my shelf is a massive 1,141 pages and only War & Peace is a thicker book in paperback that I own. also doesn't help that other directors have been rumored attached to the film and nothing came of it. It seems this is one of those movies destined to never be made.
