I cannot tell you how much I laughed when I watched the video above. I'm not even going to try to explain it. I will say that I have never heard of Pingu before today, but I've been reading up on it and apparently it was somewhat huge in Europe and Canada? Anyone care to explain?

yes. yes please
My childhood made AWESOME.
Pingu is a short, morning CBBC (Childrens BBC) show for young kids. Pingu the penguin routinely has adventures involving, but not limited to; catching fish, sledding, and messing about in igloos. He does not routinely meddle with stomach-exploding aliens. Here is a clip of Pingu in action:
I remember watching Pingu back when I was just a nipper, around 20 years ago, and my understanding is that the show is still going strong. That clip I just posted has over 17 million views. Yessir, we sure do love us some Pingu.
It's my two favorite things put together! What are the odds of that?
That was cool!
Pingu is such a great show! I remember watching it as a kid whenever it was on tv.
This was so goddamn good.
The tamest cartoon of my childhood mashed with probably the most extreme movie I've seen. I dig it.
Pingu is amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! He totally rocks and is probably the root of my adult obsession with penguin based things.
Pingu was one of my all time fave shows as a kid!
Best damn thing I've seen this year. Oh, wait, the year just started....
Awesome. Thanks for posting it.
Loved Pingu when I was a kid. This is also great.
@Sweep: That was delightfully weird and wonderful. Thanks!
Oh man pingu was fantastic growing up, ya it was pretty big in Canada, basically everyone my age watched it or knew about it. Clay penguin doing crazy stuff, i think i got scared in the episode where Pengu has the nightmare about his bed getting up and walking somewhere with him in it.
Pingu is also broadcasted on ABC in Australia.
MacReady: YEAH, WELL NOOT NOOT!
How can you not know Pingu!?!
That's my childhood man!
