Maybe I’m simultaneously losing gamer XP points while gaining movie trivia XP points here, but I’m honestly only familiar with Missile Command because young John Conner happened to be playing it in Terminator 2 right before the T-1000 started chasing him down in that arcade.
Remember the subtle visual irony? Judgment day’s going to start because of nukes, right? And John’s going to save humanity after that, right? So there he is, training for it all by taking out missiles in a vidya game. Invoking one of Cameron’s flicks is actually pretty appropriate because I’m sure he’ll have the same vitriol for this movie that he’s got for Battleship.
Variety’s reporting that the writer of Dracula: Year Zero have been hired to pen a script for this movie-from-a-game that Atari’s worked out in an arrangement with Fox. As far as I know, Missile Command didn’t even have any characters, let alone a story, so I’m curious if this might be a cushy gig for a working screenwriting duo to get their spec idea made. Come up with your own story, make sure it is involves missile defense in some capacity, give it the same title as the game and you’re as golden as Golden Axe?
Maybe. Hey, was there ever even a revival game for Missile Command? Elevator Action and Asteroids got a few.

XP subtraction! You're right. He was playing Missile Command before he got chased, but not right before he got chased.
Close enough lol. Man, I haven't watched T2 in years and talking about it really makes me want to watch that classic again.
This!
DUN DUN DUN TSSH!
Damnit. Now I got Rush stuck in my head. Thanks, Falcon.
