Rumors have been flying around about Beetlejuice 2 for years now. The rumor of this oddball classic gained steam when Michael Keaton was down to reprise his role as the titular ghoul Beetlejuice but the missing piece was the original's director Tim Burton. Burton is now in talks to direct this sequel. Rumors really started to heat up the past few weeks when Burton's next planned film wasn't panning out and sequels to his more recent films, like Dark Shadows, were non-starts. Despite all the good news I can't be too confident in any kind of sequel. The originally film had Burton's unique vision and style down to a science and the world created around Beetlejuice had his stamp on it. However Burton in the past few years hasn't had the same pizzazz and seems boring and mundane.
Would you Pups me excited to see what a Beetlejuice 2 could be? Or does a force sequel to a beloved cult classic sound like a terrible, horrible, not very good idea?
