Trailer 2: The Dictator

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY PRECIOUS ANNA FARIS, COHEN?

Man, I really like girls with short black hair. It's a thing that I like. A preference, if you will. But it just doesn't look good at all on Anna Faris in this trailer. And that's sad because, as a woman, I judge her entirely based on her physical attractiveness.

I'm joking, of course, even if I will miss those blonde locks of her. Luckily for the rest of us, the second full trailer for The Dictator reveals a bit more of the film's plot, and thankfully also makes it look a lot funnier than what they've shown off in the past. Any movie that shows children being viciously kicked in the back is OK in my book.

Yeah this doesn't look as offensively bad as the last trailer, but it still doesn't look like it'll bring much more than some really lazy humor.

Lnin0on March 27, 2012 at 5:16 p.m.

Anna for the win.

Mr_skeletonon March 27, 2012 at 5:20 p.m.

I'm really hoping it won't be as terrible as it looks.

smi1eyon March 27, 2012 at 5:33 p.m.

Ok, I feel like they've somewhat redeemed the lame first trailer with this one. I'm down to check this out.

This trailer makes the movie look a little bit better now that it shows it kinda has a story.
AlKusanagion March 27, 2012 at 5:59 p.m.

Okay, that wasn't too bad.

Martin_Blankon March 27, 2012 at 6:03 p.m.

It doesn't even look like Cohen is trying anymore. This is just more Don't Mess With the Zohan crap.

Gatehouseon March 27, 2012 at 6:09 p.m.

Wow, that was actually better than the last trailer. That doesn't say a lot, but hey, could be plain old bad instead of eye-shreddingly bad. Also, Rorie's totally right about our dear Miss Faris.

StealthMaster86on March 27, 2012 at 6:39 p.m.

This is a paradox. This still looks bad, but it's better than the first trailer. I do admit that the "take out the trash" ALMOST made me smile a bit.

ProjektGillon March 27, 2012 at 6:47 p.m.

Looks like I'm not the only one surprised by the appearance of an actual plot in this movie. Kind of seems like a mix of Zohan and Coming to America, and at least judging by the trailer, it can't be any worse than Bruno.

Vash108on March 27, 2012 at 6:51 p.m.

This kinda looks a bit interesting now.

TheLawnWrangleron March 27, 2012 at 6:54 p.m.
I'm actuallylikng this. Big ups for Jason Mantzoukas being one of the leads, and a Jon Glaser appearance! Pus, there's a lot of great gags in there- I'm sure this will turn out great. And I think Anna pulls of the short hair well! This is a strange new fad with actresses I've been noticing recently- no complaints, just saying.
Milkmanon March 27, 2012 at 6:55 p.m.
Are people really shocked that this might be good? Do people not like Borat and Bruno? I thought those movies were pretty well received.

Also, Jason Mantzoukas is one of the best up-and-coming comedians and anything that gets him more exposure is fine by me.
Black_Roseon March 27, 2012 at 6:56 p.m.

Ben Kingsley isn't even trying anymore is he?

Kicking annoying kids for the win.

SSullyon March 27, 2012 at 7:13 p.m.

Looks better then the first trailer. It doesn't look like anything special, but still decent enough to see.

Paulruson March 27, 2012 at 7:20 p.m.
The trailer just appeared on Comedy Central. Here's my reaction:
"HOLY CRAP! THIS MOVIE ACTUALLY HAS A PLOT!"
Godlyawesomeguyon March 27, 2012 at 8:22 p.m.

If this actually looks decently funny, I'm not gonna watch it so I don't spoil the best parts of the film. I am a huge fan of Cohen, and unless disaster strikes, I will be seeing this.

ganglyon March 27, 2012 at 8:52 p.m.

What a relief! Not the best trailer, as you guys have already said, but Cohen has enough cred left over from the Ali G Show and Borat that at least with me he still gets the benefit of the doubt. It's gonna take another 3 flops before he totally "Mike Meyers' himself".

Also, I (purely physically of course) actually prefer this Ferris over all the blond ones. It seems fitting seeing that this role seems like a departure from her typical ditsy chick shtick.

anna looked better with black hair since the scary movie stuff
