Trailer 2: Total Recall

"I Give Good Wife"

I have to say, I'm on the fence. I mean, the line "I give good wife" is uttered by Kate Beckinsale, which should never ever be said again. Ever. But on the other hand, there could be some good action. In fact, I kind of wish I could erase my memory and never have seen the first trailer because this one makes it look considerably better. Do you think Rekall could do that? Oh, and could we also just go ahead and get rid of Jessica Biel? That might help too.

Those look like the robots from Mass Effect. Also this looks like it might be alright.

I think the visual effects look astounding, but I see everything else and I have a completely ambivalent towards it. BUT it does have Bill Nighy and Bryan Cranston so maybe it ain't all that bad.

Look pretty goooood.

DJJoeJoeon June 27, 2012 at 6:05 p.m.

I'm always put of by how mean and snarky the tone is here. I didn't think that partucular line was cringe inducing, and I also don't think Biel's role here looks that way either. I'm generally pretty forgiving though, and it's not my job to watch all of the movies so maybe I'd feel like being a dick if I had to watch everything all the time? Either way the tone isn't helpful for someone like me.

It looks like a competent action movie, but when I see one guy take out a room full of armed thugs I start to question whether I will find the action enjoyable.

Also, is "I give good wife" supposed to be an edit? Is that the best they could do?

MrMazzon June 27, 2012 at 6:13 p.m.

This looks soo generic visually. Was that Bill Nighy for a split second? If so Underworld reunion!! Yea WTF dose "I give good wife" even mean? Beckinsale isn't in enough tight leather also.

Toastburner_Bon June 27, 2012 at 7:32 p.m.

I was hoping "I give good wife" would make more sense with the context of the trailer. Needless to say I was disappointed.

And not a single scene of Kuato.

Not sure if I like all the weird future tech they're adding to the movie. The original felt like organic or even dirty technology. This feels more like I, Robot. It could work but generally that's not the feeling you associate with most Philip K. Dick universes.

I'm torn as I liked the original Total Recall and for some reason, Colin Farrell just doesn't quite seem too macho enough to be a super-agent after Arnold. That "good wife" line though definitely seems to fall a little flat though. What little I have seen on this trailer though seems to have a lot more cooler technology as CGI has advanced considerably since Arnold's run. Wow, I just saw a note that says that movie was made back in 1990, yikes I feel old. This movie though definitely looks promising. Let's hope that this remake can deliver.

I give good wife?! That is terrible.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on a fucking second...No "Get your ass to Mars". I'm out.

Looks interesting, I'm looking forward to catching this on in the theater. I'm sure they will pull "Get your ass to Mars!"

I've never seen the original (and therefore don't have any clue what it's supposed to be like), but I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far. The cast is pretty strong and action looks really slick from what they've shown. The "I give good wife" is a bit weird but not nearly enough to detract from everything else.

phoenix87xon June 29, 2012 at 7:42 a.m.

I now don't need to see the movie, since they just showed the whole thing.

LokitheNightlordon June 29, 2012 at 12:09 p.m.

Well, this trailer's certainly better than the last one, but it still seems like an unnecessary remake. I'm at least glad some aspects of the original (cough 3-boobed lady cough) are in tact, and hopefully it'll be okay.
