A new trailer was released today (that we can assume will be played at the Lucasfilm Pavillion at ComicCon this weekend) for the box set of the complete series of Indiana Jones films to be released on Blu-Ray on September 18th.
We don't know what all of them will be yet, but there will be seven hours of bonus features and at the very least include some behind-the-scenes clips and interviews with Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg. While The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is already on DVD the first three will be released digitally restored and in high definition for the first time.
Alright, they succeeded in making me feel all nostalgic and want to watch all of them again (well, besides Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that is. I wish I could just wipe my brain clean from ever having seen that one).

Fingers crossed that Lucas keeps his paws off the editing in this edition. I don't want to hear Indiana screaming "Noooo!" every five seconds.
I'd defiantly pick up Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade individually on Blu Ray. The 4 as a whole though not so much it's 2-2 for me in terms of good and bad. Temple of Doom isn't Skulls level of bad bt just not my cup of adventure tea.
I just recently watched the first the three movies for the first time. I did see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in theatres and thought it had some serious issues. After watching Raiders and it's sequels I had to change my opinion of Kingdom a bit. For an Indiana Jones movie, it's really adequate. Silly action, long set-pieces, and general weirdness at the ends. I suppose choosing aliens over ancient magic would be a sticking point for old fans, but in this context they really aren't much different. The worst of the three is easily Temple of Doom with the absurdly annoying "love interest" and the slightly annoying boy (Dr. Jones!).
Seeing the inspiration for the Uncharted video game series was interesting, and they were still fun to watch. However I don't think I'll ever understand what all the fuss was about when they seem so rooted in the 80s. I watched 720p copies of the original three. A torrent that I think was ripped from a Japanese HDTV feed; they clean up really nicely. I think Raiders of the Lost Ark was the most enjoyable.
Awesome!
I could do without two of the movies. It's why I can't buy any of the Indy "collections". I just want the two good ones - Raiders and Crusade.
@Acura_Max: Since they're Spielberg movies, I think we're safe.
Looking forward to high-definition giant rolling boulders!
"I don't know, I'm making this up as I go." I love that.
At least the Crystal Skull was better than the absolutely laughable (and cringable) Temple of Doom.
I would not mind having this on Blu Ray.
If this was coming next year, I would imagine a 5th one coming up in theaters alongside :/
Can i buy it without the 4th film please?
while i definitely want to but this set the trailer i felt like was pretty awful
Are you insane? I would take Short Round over Shia Labeouf any day. There is also so many iconic scenes from Temple of Doom that were incredible. You have the stomach turning dinner scene, the heart removal sacrifice, the mine cart chase, an incredible opening scene in Hong Kong, and the showdown on the bridge. That is just off the top of my head. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has nuke the fridge.
@Ghost_of_GhostDad: I am with you. I am surprised to hear that people did not enjoy that film. I think it is the most iconic, or at least memorable for me. They played it all the time when I was kid. I love the Indy universe, the characters, the tone, action and everything else. I am looking forward to seeing the first three in HD again.

The nuke and the fridge was freaking awesome. Wasn't any less believable than half the scenes in the original movies. The ant scene was awesome, the chase scene was intense, and the vine swinging was retardedly entertaining. Sorry, I don't buy into the argument that the Crystal Skull was so ridiculous it wasn't a good movie. ALL the indy movies are ridiculous, and that's a big part of why they're so fun.
The only scene that captured the original spirit of Indiana Jones was the University motorcycle chase. Indiana Jones films have always played up campiness of the classic serial dramas the series was based on.
Nuke the Fridge might of been a bad example because I found Shia Labeouf swinging with the CGI monkeys and the waterfall scene way worse. I am also not one of those people who bitched about there being aliens in the movie. My main gripe was what that the story was awful.

So the movie was bad because there were multidimensional beings (not actually "aliens" but whatever), but a golden box with cheesy ghosts that fly out and melt people's faces is fine?! I don't get that logic. Were the first and third movie plots better because the story points were based on the Bible instead of string theory/dimensional science? Don't even get me started on how much was absolutely unbelievable and cheesy (not to mention eye-gougingly annoying) about the 2nd movie.
I just feel like the 4th Indy film suffers from the same pitfall that many other remakes/late sequels suffer: they are being presented to a new generation, and older generations that overly glorify the original material. It's like when I hear over and over again that SNL "isn't what it used to be" or it was "so much better in the old days." Yeah, it was JUST as hit or miss back then, but all people remember are the best parts so it seems like it was incredible then and crappy now. You may disagree, but I didn't find the 4th Indy film to be any more unbelievable, campy, or crazy than any of the original films. It had great humor, great one-liners, unbelievable action, perilous situations, and it dealt with forces of nature we don't understand (multidimensional beings vs paranormal/spiritual beings in the originals). Sounds like an Indy movie to me.
Ok yes, the vine swinging part was dumb. ;)
@smi1ey: I just said that I thought aliens fit within the Indy universe. Ezekiel's Chariots of Fire and Crystal Skulls have every right to exist in a universe where the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail are real. Plain and simple I thought it simply lacked the charm of the first three movies.
