I know that any film based on the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk would never be tonally realistic, but I am so confused by the trailers for this movie that I can't figure out what it is supposed to be. Is it a fantasy? If so, why, oh why is that rock song at the beginning? It makes zero amount of sense.
Also, I know it's a trailer, but I really hope they get the VFX together in time for the release because right now they are awful.

This could be cool. I don't mind the anachronistic music: It has worked fine before.
I'm getting a Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters vibe from this trailer.
What?
This movie has had image issues when it comes to marketing since the beginning . I actually liked the music in the beginning gave it this air of mystery/adventure. Then it went all epic adventure quasi-Pirates and it lost me. Just not sure if I should think this movie is intentianlly being campy or not.
What the fuck did I just watch. And really Deftones for the trailer? You can't just put whatever you want in a trailer.
Did I just hear rock AND dubstep in a trailer for a movie based on Jack the Giant Killer? Hollywood has completely lost me. I'm 26, but man... I feel old.
