Trailer: Red Hook Summer

Spike Lee Goes Back to Brooklyn

It has been since 2008 that a new Spike Lee film was released, and today we got a first look at the trailer for his new film Red Hook Summer. The film follows the story of a middle-class kid from Atlanta who has new life experiences when he goes to live with his religious grandfather in Brooklyn for the summer. The style and way it is shot looks incredible, and I am especially a fan of the moments that look like they are shot on old school Super 8 film. Oh, and the best part? The guys who plays Lester from The Wire is the main character; that in itself is enough to reel me in.

This movie was apparently terribly received at Sundance.
