I know he has become controversial, but I still have a complete and total love for Tim Burton. I have seen the Frankenweenie short countless times before screenings of The Nightmare Before Christmas and am so stoked to see how it will transfer to a feature.
In this interview with Devin Faraci, he discusses monsters, Frankenweenie and all things Burton. Watch now!

As awesome as Burton is in this interview I don't know if I can trust him as a director anymore. His movies all run together and he hasn't exactly been on his "A" game as of late.
Hopefully this revisit to older material triggers the old Burton to return.
@FinalDasa: The idea of Dark Shadows makes me sad.
That was actually an interesting interview with Burton. As said above I'm not sure he still has "it". Dark Shadows was not a good movie. Still Big Fish is pretty awesome but after that not so much.
Tim Burton seems like a cool guy, but I think as an artist he's hit his peak.
It's too bad, but it happens to everyone, really. I do think that removing some of his crutches - Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Danny Elfman - might force him to approach a movie differently, though.
