Awful is the best way to describe this poster. Sure it will turn heads as people are walking into the movie theater but it screams desperation. It does convey what it wants to however because I almost instantly assumed it was a dumb comedy. So when this comes out and it only turns out to be a dumb comedy at least I won't be surprised.
The idea of a spy movie has all but been usurped by films like Bourne Identity. Mission Impossible isn't as action oriented as its sequels were and now we're even seeing Jack Ryan turning the cloak and dagger world of Tom Clancy closer and closer to the world of Die Hard. At least this Unknown Caller poster has some air of mystery to it.
There is so much about 300: Rise of an Empire to hate and despise. A desperate sequel hoping to revive a one movie franchise isn't normally something any of us would look forward to. But this film looks terrific in every trailer I've seen and knowing that it's all loosely based on real battles just intrigues me more.
It was the communist nation of the USSR during the 80's and decades later were worried about the communist nation of China. Something about re-imagining American history is always fun for some reason. How would life change for the world's last superpower? Americans love an underdog story and who's a better underdog than yourself?
