You can never go wrong with a naked lady I suppose. However whenever I see advertising so directly trying to get my attention with sex I usually become more offended at the attempt than interested in the product. I'm not offended by the sex itself but instead that someone thought a bit of cleavage and booty would be enough to sell me something. California Scheming will have to show me something else to convince me to buy a ticket.
From sex to something more like a novel cover. This looks more like a painting of a movie poster than something you would see on a modern poster, which is why I like it. Throw in the list of actors and I almost don't care what the film is about I'd give it a chance. A big difference from the previous poster for sure.
Simplicity in a horror poster can be hard, you still want to portray fear but doing so with so little is difficult. Here Comes The Devil looks more like a horror film from the 70s when they couldn't readily post violent or disturbing images in theaters. The contrast between red and black, blood and darkness, leaves more to the imagination and that's usually where you'll find the scariest of things.
Raging Bull and Rocky are arguably the greatest boxing films of all time and both compete for some of the best films period. Seeing both De Niro and Stallone in full boxing poses, in the old movie poster style no less, is really awesome. If only I didn't already think Grudge Match was going to be more slapstick and comedy than a true boxing movie. Hopefully that was just the trailer.
