We start this week with two posters for the upcoming American Hustle movie from David Russel. These are obvious to grab attention and turn heads when walking into the theater. Of course there are versions for every starring actor but the ones with the woman are obviously the head turners.
Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence aside American Hustle looks to be an interesting movie and hopefully something as engaging as The Fighter or Silver Linings Playbook. Meanwhile the Thor 2 posters continue to be pretty incredible with posters that I wish were created for DnD campaigns.
NO clue what Man of Tai Chi is but combine kung fu movies with this awesome poster and I really want to see this film. For a lot of kung fu fans it is all about which actor is in the starring role. For me it's all about how they treat the kung fu. I want either real stories or real movies, preferably both. Ip Man had a great combination of conceptual moves with real stories.
We move onto another great Ender's Game poster. I'm really not sure how they're setting up this movie. Is it a grand sci-fi epic or is it an action movie that happens to be set in space. Will the deeper points from the book make an appearance or is this just an attempt to make money in the later part of the movie season?
We end this week with a poster from Shadow Recruit. The last Jack Ryan movie to be made while Tom Clancy was alive. I hope Chris Pine can hold up the drama and action that a Jack Ryan movie requires and I hope to see a new age for Ryan movies beyond what the writer created. Ford and Affleck did decent enough jobs but Pine has almost an open slate with the character and could really make it his own, hopefully it's something big for him.
