Modern Family still exists. As if the Emmys weren't a big enough reminder, because they won, this show is still around. Despite some of the great dramas on TV I still feel like TV comedy is rather sparse. Where the dramas are more willing to push the envelope in order serve the story, or shock audiences. Comedies on the other hand still want to play it safe and serve a broader audience. Hopefully this fall marks a change in this trend.
What To Watch
NBC 8pm: Season two starts with most of the cast now in a small Texas town. I wish they would make more of these shows but less like LOST. I was really interested in this show but the further it went along and tried to weave and deeper tale the less I wanted to dive in.
2. Back in the Game
ABC 8:30pm: A new comedy starting tonight about a divorced mother, and former star softball player, coaching her ragtag son's baseball team. All with the help from James Caan, her drunk former professional baseball playing father. It all seems super close to Bad News Bears but I'm a sucker for most things baseball.
3. Modern Family
ABC 9pm: The fifth season begins shortly after winning the Emmy for best comedy. And yet I don't know a single person who champions this show like some do for Parks and Rec or Community. Is someone out there really into Modern Family or am I safe in assuming this is just overrated?
4. The Bridge
FX 10pm: The Bridge continues on trucking laughing at all these new shows. I haven't been keeping up with this show so you'll have to ask MrMazz if you should be watching this one.
