It ain't easy, being a Monday night television watcher, mostly because there's really not that much on this week. CBS is taking it easy and running nothing but reruns, and Castle and Fear Factor are doing likewise. FOX, at least, has new episodes of House and Alcatraz, should you be in the mood for scripted drama. February is, of course, the first sweeps month of the year, and it seems as though most of the networks are holding their big guns for a few days from now...
| The Bachelor ABC 8 PM: "Ben and the remaining bachelorettes travel to Puerto Rico; Nicki and Elyse get individual dates; Courtney suggests Ben go skinny dipping with her." YES. COURTNEY WINS THE GAME. JUST STOP IT ALL NOW. | |
| Hoarders A&E 9 PM: "A woman develops post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her mother's hoarding; a woman's excessive shopping leads to the loss of two children." Man, I hope she wasn't hoarding baby-killing poison or something. That'd be unspeakably depressing. | |
| House M.D. FOX 8 PM: "When a homeless teenager's (Bridgit Mendler) symptoms get worse, adult consent is required for an invasive surgery; Taub tries to connect with his daughters; House threatens Foreman's relationship with a married woman (Yaya DaCosta)." Wait, Taub has daughters? Is this a new thing? Did they just go ahead and add them to the show? | |
| Alcatraz FOX 9 PM: "When a notorious robber (Eric Johnson) returns from the past, Rebecca must extricate him from a hostage-filled bank before his identity is discovered." Man, covering up the identity of all these guys is going to be a goddamn nightmare if this show keeps on to a second season. Although I have to assume that the public will catch on in the season finale, if not sooner. | |
| Intervention A&E 10 PM: "A former soccer mom collects scrap metal and sells prescription drugs to fund her crack addiction." Man, most addicts are happy enough to just DO the prescription drugs. Actually selling them for something else entirely is pretty entrepreneur-ish, when you think about it. | |
| Being Human SyFy 9 PM: "Josh and Nora prepare for another "change''; Sally looks into reincarnation; Aidan dates a human." Followed by an episode of something called Lost Girl at 10 PM, which I'll be damned if I've heard of. Is it any good? |

I think I watch A&E more then any other channel, because it makes me feel normal.
I have a friend who does some post production on Lost Girl and he thinks it is terrible, though it seems similar shows have found an audience.
On a personal note; Our subways were plastered with ads for Lost Girl when it first started up, just from looking at the ads I had no interest in watching as the lead looks exactly like my crazy, super-bitch ex girlfriend.
I love Lost Girl. If your into urban fantasy along the lines of Trueblood check it out. Its a little campy sometimes but its always fun and the leading lady is supernaturally beautiful... which is appropriate because she is a succubus. Its a little like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, and Grimm all rolled into one.
Man, it's always the baby-killing poison hoarders that give the rest of us a bad name.
Until Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead come back, my TV is permanently set on History or Discovery.
i was like oh what is hoarders, then i watched a video there was a freaking possum!
House is still on? Do people actually that show anymore?
I think I'll just play with myself tonight instead.
I want to try the US Being Human, but the UK one really surprised me and I don't want to ruin it.

I really love the UK Being Human. I tried watching the US version and it just really fell short. For one thing, they really changed what vampires can and can't do. They also made the mistake of copying some things too closely (like Annie's costume) while changing others completely (like the main characters names). Maybe it gets better as it goes on, but I didn't like the first episode at all. The writing just wasn't as good. Plus, like I said...they totally messed up vampires!
As for Lost Girl...well it's not bad, it's just not that good either. I've watched the first few episodes and it was alright...it's just that the acting is a bit shit.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Lost Girl is pretty good Rorie. It depends on taste. Kinda reminds me of a more modern, canadian spin on Angel but with a Succubus instead of a Vampire.
Taub's had daughters since about the middle of last season. This plotline synopsis essentially describes the past 15 episodes of House; really kind of wish it had ended already...
Bridgit Mendler plays a homeless teenager on House this week? That's pretty dark for a Disney Channel kid. Good for her (also, good for her that she's doing voiceover work in Studio Ghibli's latest film - she seems far more aware of where her career is going than Disney's typical Hanna Montana wannabes...).

Better than it sounds, though. It drags at the beginning, but it's alright.
Im not into Lost Girl, I watched the first episode, but I cant really get into it.
