What To Watch: September 1st, 2010!

WE TELL YOU!

Hey everyone! It's another episode of What to Watch! We've got a user question up in the video above, and another one after the break! Be sure to ask us a question in the comments below!

GhostHead84 says: If you could attend the premier of any film, in history, which one would it be?

Rorie Says: I think if I had to pick a movie, I'd probably pick a heavily hyped movie that wound up being some insane bomb, just to bask in the schadenfreude. There are a lot of options here, of course. Cutthroat Island? Battlefield Earth? Naw, I think I'd at least try and get some boob action: I think I'd love to see the parade of self-delusion on display at the Showgirls premiere. Someone among the cast and crew must've thought that their movie would make some kind of money, or was at least an artistic statement of some kind. Of course, it wasn't, but I kind of doubt that any of them actually imagined that they made a movie that would help reignite America's passion for yelling at the screen at midnight movies.

Alex Sez: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. You get to hang out with Johnny Depp, Terry Gilliam, and Hunter S. Thompson (god rest the man's soul), and you KNOW that just about every refreshment is going to be laced with LSD. I can't envision a better evening spent.

"Fuckin' Bruges"
Hadoken101on Sept. 1, 2010 at 7:10 a.m.
The marine + In Bruges= most random pairing of movies ever?
sissylionon Sept. 1, 2010 at 7:13 a.m.
Dude, Alex, where did you get that shirt?
MjHealyon Sept. 1, 2010 at 7:22 a.m.
"Bruges...shithole"

Effin' love me some In Bruges.

Question: What sequel would you regard as the "greatest movie sequel of all time"?
skrutopon Sept. 1, 2010 at 7:42 a.m.
I finally caught an episode of "Shaq Vs." last night.  Not only does that show suck, but the announcers take that shit WAAAY too seriously.  Also, Justin Bieber can eat my ass.

Question: What's the worst movie that somehow got itself a sequel?

 "Losers whine about their best.  Winners go home and fuck the prom queen."
Joeon Sept. 1, 2010 at 8:45 a.m.
"I didn't even know where Bruges fucking was.

It's in Belgium."

Also,  I request an animated gif of Alex's dance.

Alex is quite the dancer
amacmillanon Sept. 1, 2010 at 9:48 a.m.
I sometimes get the impression that Alex and Matt really get on each others nerves, and it makes for some powerfully awkward moments in the What to Watch videos.
wreckson Sept. 1, 2010 at 9:52 a.m.
This Star Trek Trailer is easily one of the best trailers of the past few years. Still gets to me.

Rorie is not funny.  Alex is the funny one.  This duo needs a straight man.
Cakeon Sept. 1, 2010 at 9:57 a.m.
These videos keep getting awesome-er. Even when I don't live in the US and have no practical reason to check out "What to Watch"...

The man's got a mean right hook for a guy his age, I'll give him that.
Undeadpoolon Sept. 1, 2010 at 10:09 a.m.
@Hawkeye:
What a lot of people forget is that astronauts are pulled from the air force, so dude IS technically ex-military.
Hawkeyeon Sept. 1, 2010 at 10:19 a.m.
@Undeadpool:
Red: starring Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, John Glenn, James Lovell, and Kathryn Thornton. Now THERE'S a movie I'd go see.
MrPinkon Sept. 1, 2010 at 10:56 a.m.
@SpiritOf:
Nice!  Time Bandits is just a fun movie all around.  I agree, IN BRUGES was rather good.
MetalGearSunnyon Sept. 1, 2010 at 11:35 a.m.
There is NOTHING more authentic than Kid Rock.

    Sacha Baron Cohen tries to recapture the glory of his prior foreigner-in-America culture comedy, but a lack of heart and diminishing returns on the successful gimmick turns this into a movie of decent jokes a decade too late.
