What To Watch: Thursday, Sitcoms, Immense

That was a poem about thursday night television. Don't go selling that, now.

I wonder why this was cancelled.
I wonder why this was cancelled.

And so we finally arrive to what I believe will be the last episode of Charlie's Angels to ever air. I think I've said that like three times now, but Wikipedia only lists up to tonight's episode, so tonight it must be true! I think we can all agree that it's a shame that three young and incredibly hot actresses won't be employed until someone else offers them a job at the drop of a hat because they're stunningly gorgeous. Minka, dear, I do need someone to help me run Screened. Call me?

What show are you relying on to deliver the funny tonight? There's only like, a billion to choose from.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

FX 10 PM: "The gang's plan to extract an artifact is jeopardized when the owners turn out to be home." That...that is the most perfect Sunny episode description ever. I have no idea what it means, but it's completely plausible given the show.

Grey's Anatomy

ABC 9 PM: "Teddy is called away on another case, as Henry is brought in for emergency surgery; Derek and Meredith finally receive news about Zola; a patient experiences complications after surgery." Teddy! Another case?! Sometimes I wonder whether you love me at all!

The Big Bang Theory

CBS 8 PM: "Leonard and Penny spend time alone; Sheldon tries to face his fear of birds." Wait, are they spending time alone, or spending time alone together? CLARIFICATION IS NEEDED.

Person of Interest

CBS 9 PM: "Reese and Finch question the machine's reliability when it prompts the investigation of a teenager who was killed years earlier; Finch recalls the origin of the machine." I question the machine's reliability every day, but then, "The Machine" is what I call my penis. Part of that sounds really impressive until you remember the other part.

The Mentalist

CBS 10 PM: "Jane must use his skills to defuse a dangerous situation when an accused murderer takes him and others hostage." So, like The Negotiator.

Community

NBC 8 PM: "The group tries to help Annie move in with Troy and Abed but things go awry when she becomes frustrated by their lifestyle; Dean Pelton blackmails Jeff into spending the afternoon with him." Aren't Troy and Abed supposed to try and get Annie to move in with them, rather than the other way around? Or am I misreading that?

Parks and Recreation

NBC 8:30 PM: "Leslie asks Ben, Andy and April to help host a Model U.N. for the local high school; Chris asks Ann for dating advice; Ron tries to find a replacement for Tom." TOO MANY DAMN NAMES IN THIS EPISODE

The Office

NBC 9 PM: "Pam teams up with Dwight to prove that Jim thinks her temporary replacement is pretty; Robert California asks to join Andy, Darryl and Kevin's band." Oh, Pam and Jim. You'll always be America's sweethearts. At least until we get conquered by aliens.

Whitney

NBC 9:30 PM: "During a double date, Whitney learns more about Alex's past; a sore loser emerges during a basketball game; Lily tries to win over Neal's mother." Is Whitney Cummings too skinny? I think she's too skinny.

Prime Suspect

NBC 10 PM: "Jane and Calderon investigate the death of a boy at a preschool; Rivera asks Duffy to keep her company while she works a case; Jane's personal experience comes in handy." Jane's personal experience comes in handy, you say? So this episode is like every other television episode in the history of the world?

The League

FX 10:30 PM: "Taco competes in a jingle contest for a fast food restaurant; Pete holds a grudge against a traffic cop; Jenny almost ruins Ruxin's chance to work a big case."

Charlie's Angels

ABC 8 PM: "The angels investigate the assassination of an African king, while protecting the heir to his throne; Kate rethinks her relationship with Ray." And with this, ladies and gentlemen, I do believe we hit the last episode of another fall series. Adieu, adieu, sweet prince, etc.

Bones

FOX 9 PM: "The team identifies the remains of a competitive-eating champion just days before a contest; a brilliant new squint has trouble fitting in; Booth and Brennan try to put themselves in each other's places after a disagreement about the baby." Squint? I'm not hip to the kids' lingo anymore. :(

The X Factor

Fox 8 PM: Contestants face elimination; Willow Smith performs. On the plus side, if you're eliminated, you can leave before Willow Smith performs.

Beavis and Butt-Head

MTV 10 PM: "Holy Cornholio" is the name of the episode. That means it should be good, I suppose!

Burn Notice

USA 10 PM: "Michael teams up with the brother of a victim of gang violence to entrap the gang in a weapons scheme; Sam goes undercover on a college campus." Reminds me of the time I teamed up with the brother of a victim of gang violence to entrap the gang in a weapons scheme.

The Heart, She Holler

Cartoon 12:30 AM: "Hurlan wants to be a doctor; Hurshe takes advantage." Advantage!

It's been established on Community that Annie lives in a very dangerous shithole. The group has tried to convince her to get out of there. It makes sense in that context.

On tonight? Lots and lots of Skyrim.

Toxin066on Nov. 10, 2011 at 9:34 a.m.
I WANT TO WATCH ALL OF IT.

Specifically, Blues v Maple Leafs, IASiP, The League, Bones, Community, Parks and Rec, Beavis and Butthead, and Burn Notice,

DVR, tonight's on you. Don't fail me.

It's gonna be Community, BBT, and Burn Notice for me tonight. A squint, at least in Bones, is an intern or something like that.

CharAznableon Nov. 10, 2011 at 10:34 a.m.

I will never understand how people find Big Bang Theory funny. I guess it's just not for me.

csl316on Nov. 10, 2011 at 11:10 a.m.

Now with watching anything anytime on the internet, I don't have to make any hard choices. Beavis and Butthead or more Uncharted 3 multiplayer. How about both!

You should see it without the laugh track, truly breathtaking.

I've heard this show can cause nerd death from how cringe-worthy and awfully researched the nerd references are.

teh_destroyeron Nov. 10, 2011 at 11:50 a.m.

So, nothing to watch it is!

skrutopon Nov. 10, 2011 at 12:12 p.m.

@rorie: Whitney Cummings is too skinny and her face is weird.

DVR will be on overdrive tonight, like every Thursday. I'll be taking a nap through these shows since midnight = SKYRIM!

Radio_Resistanceon Nov. 10, 2011 at 1:03 p.m.

@teh_destroyer: This is arguably the best night for TV next to Sunday >:(.

ProjektGillon Nov. 10, 2011 at 3:47 p.m.

The Big Bang Theory was entertaining for the last 3 seasons but has started to lose me with this season. Also taking the laugh track out is kind of pointless because the show was shot with the laugh track in mind and that leads to odd pauses. That first video got 3 chuckles out of me which is more than I can say for any episode of Whitney.

You, sir or madam, have exquisite taste and I wish you many hours of a functional DVR. Even the few mentions I don't watch I can at least respect. Unless you're a Blues fan, in which case I hope you rot in hell (tonight), excellent taste not withstanding.

@Asmo917: Ah, an adversary! All I have to say to that is: GO BLUES!

The first clip actually made me laugh a bit, the dead pan guy is pretty funny. It's once they try to be geek that I start to die inside.

Also, who else is fucking sick of listening to Big Bang Theory every time they walk into a Gamestop?
