What to Watch: Thursday
| 1. Parks and Recreation 9:30pm on NBC Yesterday it was Revenge, today it's Parks and Rec making for a great week for shows returning from hiatus. It is finally back and I can't wait for some of that Ron Swanson deliciousness. | |
| 2. Community 8:00pm on NBC Abed lets Annie in to his dreamatorium which turns into an examination of the group. Now, that sounds like a study I want to see. I bet it figures out they are all crazy…and hilarious. | |
| 3. Rules of Engagement 8:30pm on CBS I can't imagine choosing any comedy over 30 Rock, but in case your DVR can record two things, David Spade still brings out some laughs. And, for some reason I didn't want to give NBC a complete Monopoly on the comedy front night. | |
| 4. The Vampire Diaries 8:00pm on The CW If you are in the mood for some soapy teen drama and vampires, you could watch this. But, you could also watch Twilight, although I'm not sure if I truly recommend either. | |
| 5. Kathy Griffin 10pm on Bravo Reality TV: Series Premiere of Kathy Griffin's new talk show "Kathy". She claims there will be no celebrities and no real format to the show. However, there will be a lot of drinking, nudity and her D-list friends. I'm not really sure how this all translates in to a show, but if you were a fan of her old one, might be worth a look-see. |

No love for Awake

I gave it love last week and was trying to be a little diverse but trust me it will be there again.
Yes, shows I actually want to watch again
I can't fathom why people keep giving Kathy Griffin television shows. What is the demographic that watches her programs? I understand the attraction to other reality shows like those endless Real Housewives, Storage/Luggage/Pawn Shop wars and rich hicks get money-make rich asses of themselves, but what's Griffin's appeal? Yes, she's self-deprecating about her own uselessness, but she's not "accident on the side of the road"-like mesmerizing. At least with the Jersey Shore herd, you tune in to see them be horrible people and thus feel better about yourself. I am at a loss. Of course, I don't fully understand what Chelsea Handler does for a living either.
DVR getting a work out tonight.
Person of Interest, Touch, Awake? Whatever this weird line up here is. Garbageee

GAY MEN. Next to early teen girls, probably the most high spending demo.
I have utterly no interest in watching a reality show of hers, and I've always found her generally annoying, but her stand-up specials always have me cry-laughing. The lady knows how to tell a good story. (I'm even hetero, too!) ;)
@TheHumanDove: Have you been watching Awake? The trailer seemed great, and I love Jason Isaacs, but I haven't been convinced to dig in yet. Worth the time?
@gangly: Awake is easily the best procedural-type show on TV, and it's my favorite drama. It's great. It isn't the most consistent show out there, but it's still mighty entertaining.
Pretty much what Red said, down to the word. Also Jason Isaacs is awesome
@gangly: You know, I should have guessed. Half the things on Bravo wind up on Logo, too. Let's hear it for disposable income!
@Red: @TheHumanDove: So glad to hear it! Awake, here I come!
Parks and Rec blows...
