TV TUESDAY YO
| 1. The Biggest Loser NBC 8 PM: "The contestants swap trainers for a week; the contestants search for weight plates in a giant mud pit." Oh man, I'd totally win that competition! I spent so much time as a youngster searching for weight plates in a giant mud pit. I would hope that my skills haven't atrophied. | |
| The River ABC 9 PM: A steadily-declining viewership (just over four million people watched the last episode) probably means that the eight episodes of this show that have been produced will be all that we get. Here's hoping it has a good pay-off. | |
| Cougar Town ABC 8:30: Pretty much everyone I've talked to has good things to say about this sitcom, but then, pretty much everyone acknowledges that it also has an awful title. The first few episodes of this season have likewise been terrible, ratings-wise, but have garnered some exceptionally good reviews. That's kind of surprising, considering that its lead-in, Last Man Standing, gets pretty great ratings. | |
| New Girl Fox 9 PM: "When Jess learns that injured Nick doesn't have insurance, she brings him to her friend -- who is a gynecologist." Wacky hijinks no doubt ensue! Preceded by new episodes of Raising Hope and I Hate My Teenage Daughter. | |
| Breaking In Fox 9:30 PM: "When Oz sells the company to a corporate conglomerate, the brash head of the business and her bad-tempered assistant turn the office upside down." In one of the weirdest resurrection stories in recent television history, Breaking In was actually cancelled, then brought back for a second season as a mid-season replacement, and that second season premieres tonight. | |
| Justified FX 10 PM: "A murder forces Raylan to confront his past mistakes; Boyd grapples with Harlan's corrupt sheriff." One of the very few shows that I actually make time to watch each week. It's already episode eight, which means we only have a month or so left! Enjoy it while it lasts. |

They showrunners of Cougar Town have actually attempted to change the title before, they're well aware of it's shitty-ness.
Think Cougar Town is coming down with a case of Terriers?
The story behind Cougar Town's conception and turmoil around the first few episodes is fascinating. I'm surprised but happy that Breaking In is coming back, but it's going to be tough for Odette to do double duty with that and House. Then again, they are probably close to wrapping on House's final season.
Key and Peele has been a delight so far this season, I'm sticking with that. I think I DVRed an old episode of Cheap Seats last night, too. It comes on ESPN Classic at such random times.
Or, more likely, I'll listen to the Bombcast and BtSD while playing Mass Effect.
@Rorie Is Justified going to be cancelled or did you write the "enjoy it while it lasts" part only because 2/3 of the season is already over? You are scaring me here, I would really hate to see the 2nd great show (after Deadwood) with Timothy Olyphant to get canned after only 3 seasons.
Its TUESDAY so that means its Justified night
I hope tv execs don't get the wrong idea about big budget fantasy adventure pieces, we want them but we them to be good..
@emem: They announced today that season 4 is coming and it will be 13 episodes so you don't have to worry about justified getting canceled.
edit: source
It's also the season finale of Ink Master on Spike @ 10 PM / 11:30 PM / 1 AM (Eastern times) for anyone who's been watching that. That's getting a second season as well.
@Jazzycola: Wohoo, that's great news, thanks!
Best news of the day (because the show and this season in particular is amazing)
Justified has been picked up for a 4th season: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/54083

Nice, I've been enjoying that show,
I guess I'll check out Breaking In - I've been interested in it since it was resurrected. Also, Key & Peele tonight on Com Central - that show is growing on me.
Oh, and video games. Naturally.
Looking forward to tonight's Key and Peele!
For a person who marathonned all of Season 1 and 2 and the first episode of Season 3 of Cougar Town within like, a day or two....I'm just not finding it to be very good. I get what they are trying to do, but they are all awful people who only care about themselves, as well as raging alcoholics. Maybe it's cause TV-alcoholism has always been a sore spot for me.
Breaking In was resurrected? That's cool, did Christian Slater demand not to be in another failed series or something?
Neal McDonough is killing it in Justified. I hope he somehow sticks around for the next season and it is always good to see more Wynn Duffy too. It's funny because I never thought he was that good of an actor, but he's playing the psychopath on the edge pretty well.
