Wow, it happened so quickly, I didn't even notice, but I think we have now officially entered the summer TV slump. I know that we are supposed to want to go outside and stuff, but as much as I like the sun, I still want to watch TV..yes, even in the Summer... Hello? Anybody listening?
The good news? Breaking Bad just got an official premiere date of July 15th (countdown clock: 53 days) and Hell on Wheels will also start out that night on AMC. True Blood (of which I am not a fan, but some may be) and the new Aaron Sorkin show The Newsroom premiere in June, but until then, we are left with reality TV and well, not much else.
So let's go on a ride and explore some other fun things in What to Watch while we wait for September and all of our favorites to return. First up will be daily addition of the marathon you should start…now. We all know that there are those shows that for one reason or another you never watched (you just missed the first episode, you didn't have the right channel - HBO, Showtime, etc - or it wasn't until the second season that you realized the show was probably great). Well now that it is summer, stop making excuses and take the time to catch up on some of the best and most fun series to watch in marathon format.
9:00pm on FOX - Season Finale
It's graduation and the kids begin to say goodbye and consider their future. The big question…what happens now? Rumors seem to be that we will be occasionally following Kurt, Rachel and Finn as they venture to New York and get some new blood at McKinley. But…will this work? 90210 was never the same when they left high school…and I don't know that I feel like investing in new students. Call me a skeptic, but I am fearful for Glee's future.
|2. America's Got Talent|
9:00pm on NBC
Infinitely more entertaining since Howard Stern joined the cast…he may just make this show worth watching this season.
|3. Fight Club|
8:00pm on AMC
Se7en started my love affair with David Fincher…Fight Club sealed the deal. A movie that still holds up to greatness even 13 years later. Watch it again, or watch it for the fist time but, just watch it.
Marathon to Start:
Seasons 1-8 on Netflix Instant
You may or may not have learned so far that 24 is my favorite show of all time. I know that it is a show that you either "get it and love it" or you don't...but, if you have not given it a shot yet, it is time to try. Just be prepared...marathoning this show has oftentimes been likened to a drug addiction and before you know it, you will be staying up 24 hours a day just so you can spend some time with Mr. Bauer.
