It's the weekend, finally. And while for most people that means a few days off, I'm honestly more excited because good TV is on. Of course Breaking Bad is the white whale of this list. A behemoth of quality and ratings. But there is plenty else to watch or record for your viewing pleasure all weekend long. So get out there and enjoy your Friday night because the rest of the weekend you'll be cuddling with your TV.
What To Watch
1. Hell on Wheels
Saturday AMC 9pm: The new time slot for this show is surprising since it was doing pretty well airing around Breaking Bad. But maybe this is a vote of confidence and not abandonment. AMC really could use more than a few hit shows bringing in ratings.
2. Big Brother
Sunday CBS 8pm: Somehow Big Brother is still a big ratings pull for CBS. Yes a bunch of people somewhere are still getting their voyeur rocks off on this show. Maybe they haven't discovered the internet yet or maybe this is like the light version of a pay site somewhere.
3. Breaking Bad
Sunday AMC 9pm: If you're not watching Breaking Bad, I feel bad for you. If you can get past the gritty beginning and seemingly uninteresting plot (yes the idea of some dude making meth seems almost boring) you'll understand quickly. It's about engaging characters and fantastic build up. No show is better at setting up a glass tower just to break it all down for you.
4. The Great Food Truck Race
Sunday Food 9pm: If good dramas aren't your thing then this may be the ticket. Food trucks are almost everywhere. Outside your favorite bar every Saturday night, holding rallies at your local coffee shop. This one takes actual food trucks, including one from my home town, and sends them across the country to see who is the best.
5. Low Winter Sun
Sunday AMC 10pm: This new show on AMC, which premiered last week after Breaking Bad, is about a good cop who is a bad cop. What could make one man go over the edge and forget his morals?
