Happy Friday, everybody! You know the drill. Video up top, new releases below. Boosh! Efficiency!
New Releases: 09/03
| The American Rating: R Release: Wide Oh, hey! Look! Rorie totally already reviewed this! And he really liked it! His review actually confirmed the precise thing that I expected: the trailer for this movie is bullshit. But I'm totally down for an interesting, thoughtful character study with George Clooney at top billing. That said, I don't think this movie's going to do so great financially. Everyone's going to expect an actioner and be disappointed. Stupid marketing.

| Machete Rating: R Release: Wide Full review and a Quick and Dirty thoughts video will go up later today, but look, seriously, do you need me to really tell you to see this movie? Do you think the idea of Danny Trejo swinging around buildings via a guy's intestines and driving motorcycles through explosions while blasting a mini-gun is awesome? Then go see it, for crap's sake!

| Going the Distance Rating: R Release: Wide Review and Q&D thoughts later, but Rorie liked this one OK. I actually had no idea this was rated R, and I guess some of the raunchier elements are actually pretty damn funny. If only I didn't just positively hate Drew Barrymore.
|
| Mesrine: Public Enemy Number One Rating: R Release: Limited Pope reviewed the first movie in this pair last week, and now the second one is hitting theaters. Granted, both these movies have been out in Europe since like 2008, but at least we're getting them at all.
|
| A Woman, A Gun And A Noodle Shop Rating: R Release: Limited One of my more anticipated films of this fall movie season is opening in super limited release this week (and will hopefully go wider soon). In case you missed it, this is Zhang Yimou ( Hero, House of Flying Daggers) remaking the Coen Brothers movie Blood Simple. Now do you see why I want to check it out so badly?
|
| The Winning Season Rating: PG-13 Release: Limited I love that this is the only non-R-rated release of the weekend. I don't know a lot about this one except that it's an indie sports comedy starring Sam Rockwell and Rob Corddry that's all about girl's basketball. Reviews are mixed, but I do love me the hell out of some Sam Rockwell...

So, what are you all planning on watching this weekend?
Who has a worse complexion: Danny Trejo or Edward James Olmos?
Go Hokies!
That's Auburn for those that don't know our little saying that kind of makes no sense.
ILL - INI!
Go forth and embarrass me yet again
Yeah. Machete will be scene.
Go Buckeyes!
Looking forward to Machete and Going the Distance (if only for the cameo by Charlie Day from It's Always Sunny)
