| 1. Fringe Friday at 9pm on FOX It is Episode 19 of the season, and loyal fans of the show know that always means something special is going to happen. Set in 2036, the Observers have taken over the world and the team engage in an epic battle with them. Since they have filmed two endings (in case it's the last season of Fringe), I expect this one could be particularly special. | |
| 2. Veep Sunday at 10pm on HBO The new show that is premiering after the second episode of Girls, is centered around Julia Louis-Dreyfus as portraying U.S. Vice President Selina Meyer. She is a comedy pro and The New Adventures of Christine lasted for awhile, but never seemed to fully catch on, so it will be nice to see her in a role that she can stretch her comedy chops. My only concern is what an odd 2 hours of television. Game of Thrones, Girls and VEEP seems like they would all 3 have incredibly different audiences, but hey, who am I to question HBO. | |
| 3. Game of Thrones Sunday at 9pm on HBO Joffrey punishes Sasha and I don't think I'm gonna like this one bit. Everything else looks amazing, as always. | |
| 4. Mad Men Sunday, at 9pm on AMC Can you believe we are almost halfway through the new season of Draper and Friends? I'm not prepared to let go anytime soon. | |
| 5. The Simpsons Sunday at 8pm on FOX Reality TV: FOX 25th Anniversary Special. From the network that has given us Al Bundy, Bart Simpson, Brandon Walsh, Ally McBeal, Jack Bauer, Dr. House, Simon Cowell and many many more, I think it is kind of "special" to take some time out and honor that. I have no idea if this will actually be produced well and watchable, but sounds fun to re-visit the actors and characters that have become our friends along the way. |

Guess this is a good time to try out the Game of Thrones drinking game:
Super excited about VEEP! Honestly, I'm mostly just excited to hear Julia Louis-Dreyfus say, "fuck". But the show seems like it could be something uniquely funny.
Also, I know that Game of Thrones has started to veer kind of far from the book, but I'm pretty sure Joffrey will be punishing Sansa rather than Sasha. ;)
Pst. No Breakout Kings? The Killing? Yeah, I watch those shows. What of it?
@meaninoflife42: Clarification on the "Joffrey acts like a douchebag" rule, please - are we talking each instance, or for the duration of his douchebaggery?
@Napalm: Breakout Kings....is it really good or a guilty pleasure? I actually liked the pilot, but never watched the series for some reason, so very curious.
@meaninoflife42: I am absolutely going to play on Sunday...I blame you for anything that happens after!

Breakout Kings IS good
Can't wait for Veep to hit the UK! Armando Iannucci is a genius, The Thick Of It was brilliant and In The Loop is the funniest film of the last decade. There's no way I'm missing that!
@staceywi: I mean, it's good, but it's not gripping drama or action in the way Justified or Mad Men is. It's pretty formulaic, and even though the characters are a little boilerplate (though it's getting better this season), I still enjoy it.
No support for Bob's Burgers?
Wasn't excited to see Veep until I found out it is from the same people that made In The Loop. Now I can't wait.
@alexkavon: ALWAYS support for Bob's Burgers!
(just not in this article) ;)
@Brewmaster_Andy: I'm guessing each instance.
@staceywi: We shall see...
@jackanderson: Oh, of course.
im was watching the amazing race...now im watching celebrity apprentice....but not really...lol
