What to Watch: Weekend

Arrrrgh! It's a cable-y weekend.

Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver with Elijah Wood by his side.

1. In Plain Sight

10:00pm on Friday, USA

I have not watched much of this show, but I always like honoring important moments in a show's history. After five seasons In Plain Sight starring Mary McCormack airs its series finale. They hope to provide some resolution and let you know where all the characters are going.

2. Treasure Island

6:00pm on Saturday, SyFy

Eddie Izzard stars as Long John Silver in this epic reboot of the Robert Louis Stevenson pirate heist. Elijah wood and Donald Sutherland also star and if you are a fan of pirates or this story this could be some fantastic fun for a Saturday night. It aired as a mini-series in England, but SyFy will run it all in one night beginning at 6pm with the second part starting 9:00pm. You better be prepared to settle in with your popcorn!

3. The Borgias

10:00pm on Sunday on Showtime

Showtime just picked it up for a third season, and while the subject matter just doesn't interest me, I am sure it is good. In Sunday's epsidoe, The Pope sends Cesare to the caastle of the Sforzas to demand their allegiance, but he ends up with more than he bargained for.

4. Game of Thrones

9:00pm on Sunday, HBO

I'm hoping for a little more action this week, and from the looks of previews, I think I just might get it.

5. Mad Men

9:00pm on Sunday, AMC

Peggy harbors a secret and why does this make me nervous?

6. Veep

10:00pm on Sunday, HBO

Selina celebrates spending 20 years in Washington D.C. But tries to keep a low-profile after she gets called a diva in the press while Gary selects candidates for the VP dog. I hope it's as cute as BoBama.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Thank you SO MUCH for relaying this info. I've been having visions of Cumberbatch floating through my dreams for like a year now waiting for Series 2. Found the link with airing info for those who care. Irene Adler, here we come!

RockinKemosabeon May 4, 2012 at 4:54 p.m.

@gangly: I was originally just going to watch it when it comes out on blu-ray later this month, but I can't wait that long! It's going to be strange having Cumberbatch and Freeman going against each other in The Hobbit.

@RockinKemosabe: Really? What time? Is it a marathon?

Lurkeroon May 4, 2012 at 5:17 p.m.

Why you not mention Sherlock on PBS!?

RockinKemosabeon May 4, 2012 at 5:19 p.m.

@Acura_Max: There is one episode every Sunday, the 6th, 13th and 20th. You'll have to check your local listings for the time. Gangly was kind enough to provide the link.

Thanks for the info. I thought would never get to see this since I don't have the BBC.

Because it is listed as Masterpiece Mystery! and I didn't realize that was Sherlock II or I would have absolutely added. My bad for missing that one and thanks
