What to Watch: Weekend

Goodbye Walter White; Hello Doctor Who

1. The Princess Bride

8:00pm on Friday, AMC

It is inconceivable that anyone should think this movie is not worth watching 100 times...even if it will have commercials.

2. Doctor Who (Reboot)

9:00pm on Saturday, BBCA – Season Premiere

The entirety of Season 6 will play on BBCA beginning at 7:00am on Saturday and lead into the Season 7 premiere at 9:00pm. I have not watched it yet, but from everything I've seen I really really want to. My next marathon, perhaps?

3. Copper

10:00pm on Saturday, BBCA – Series Premiere

A new crime drama series that is set in the Five Points neighborhood of 1864 New York. The story is focused around a rugged young Irish cop, who must navigate his dangerous neighborhood while also interacting with the Manhattan Crowd and the emerging racial tensions between communities. I'm a bit confused as to why this show is on BBCA, but sounds interesting enough for that not to matter.

4. Leverage

9:00pm on Sunday, TNT

The team pretends to discover an antique car and tries to convince a Wall Street fraud to break the deal that protects him from prosecution. Sounds sneaky!

5. Breaking Bad

10:00pm on Sunday, AMC – Season Finale - Editor's Top Pick

The finale of the first half of the final season of Breaking Bad. Last weeks episode was truly heartbreaking and I'm not sure I'm prepared for where they will take it next…or for it to be off-air until next year.

6. Hell on Wheels

9:00pm on Sunday, AMC

Tragedy strikes and Cullen has to diffuse an internal threat to the railroad.

Breaking Bad and Doctor Who? I feel slightly spoiled.

Daemonon Aug. 31, 2012 at 4:40 p.m.

It's an all BBC America programme with Doctor Who and Copper for me this weekend!

teh_destroyeron Aug. 31, 2012 at 8:30 p.m.

Sounds like I should be watching Doctor Who.

fuzzayon Sept. 1, 2012 at 1:18 a.m.

Absolutely STOKED for Doctor Who. I'm a bit of a fan.

Dig Deeper into Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is an original AMC drama series that follows the path of overqualified high school chemistry teacher Walter White, who after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, resorts to cooking crystal meth with former drop-out student, Jesse Pinkman, to provide for his family after his death.
