What to Watch: Weekend

This weekend it's all about the pigskin as the Sunday series go on hiatus to escape getting crushed by the biggest game of the year

1. Portlandia

10:00pm on Friday, IFC

The antics of Fred and Carrie make my heart happy with laughter.

2. Super Bowl

6:25pm EST/3:25pm PST

In case by now you have somehow missed that it is the biggest show of the year on television (hint hint: The Super Bowl) on Sunday. The craziest thing is by far, The Superbowl will be the highest rated show of the year. Americans love their football.

3. Elementary

7:00pm on Sunday, CBS

In the coveted post-Super Bowl slot, Elementary has the potential to explode in this and future airings. It catapulted House, Glee, and Grey's Anatomy to ratings highs and I wonder if it will do the same. However, while it's a solid show, if you are going to be watching any Sherlock story it should be this one.

Thanks for linking to the real Sherlock. Powered through all 6 of the 90 minute episodes in the course of two days and loved every minute of it.

As a Bengals fan, I am torn on who to cheer for. The Ravens are rivals in the same division so I hate them. On the other hand the 49ers have beaten the Bengals twice at their only two Super Bowl appearances so fuck them too. Is there some obscure NFL rule where both teams can lose so I root for that instead?

I'm shocked you don't have something for Downton Abbey. Did you catch last week's episode?

roger778on Feb. 2, 2013 at 6:40 p.m.

I'm rooting for the 49ers, because I have been a fan of that team all my life.

@rem25: I've watched them all already so I'm waiting until the end, because I don't want to ruin things! So much to say, so much to NOT say!!!
