The popular ABC series that lasted eight whole seasons is set to return to the CW network. Now in reruns, usually on ABC family, the show featured four comedians and a host who would dish out quick skits and take theme suggestions from the audience. The show was hosted by Drew Carey, who was coming off his success of the Drew Carey Show, won't be returning for the new version. Most likely busy, and financially satisfied, with The Price is Right. Instead Aisha Tyler, former host of Talk Soup and current co-host on View ripoff The Talk, is set to host and she certainly has comedian chops for it. Set to return are Ryan Stiles, Wayne Brady, and Colin Mochrie who are from the original cast and really the comedy glue that held the show together. Also, just like the original, the show will feature a fourth guest who will rotate and hopefully will feature more celebrity guests who were sometimes a rarity on the first run.
Is this a good idea? Are we ready for an aged version of the show? And should it really be more of the same or should we be getting some newer comedians to ride in and see how they do? And more importantly should this be more raunchy? The original UK version of Whose Line was much more adult and crass sometimes and if you've never looked up uncensored scenes from the American version on youtube, you should do so. Personally I'd like to see some new talent on the show more often since the original helped make guys like Wayne Brady a household name.

Ryan and Colin are that show, and I'm fine with them being older, they'll still be funny.
As we all know, Whose Line is the best comedy show of it's type, so of course I'm excited for it! I wouldn't really want a new generation of performers though, it's a throwback idea, and I think the performers can and will age gracefully. The new kids on the block have their new things, Whose Line is an idea from the 80s and should be proud of it.
YES YES IT IS!
EDIT: This means MORE SCENES FROM THE HAT

^Short version.
Too bad Carey isn't back - while he isn't the funniest comedian by a long shot, he has great chemistry and established rapport with the core group of Stiles, Mochrie, Brady and Greg Proops. I'll miss their banter.
Also, celebrity guest stars were the fucking worst. The only noteworthy were Richard Simmons and Carol Channing, and that was only due to watching Stiles visibly cringe because he impersonated them countless times.
By the way - a skinny Drew Carey is the creepiest shit. It's just eerie.
Oh hell yes. Strangely enough I was actually checking out clips of Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza the other day thinking about how it just wasn't as good as Whose Line, and now Whose Line proper is coming back, sweeeet.
Oh, and it wouldn't be the same without Ryan and Colin, and hearing that Wayne will be in it too it even better. Drew's reactions were funny but a new host shouldn't hurt provided it's a good host.
Also, I'll just leave this here:
@Ghostiet: It really depends on the celebrity. Robin Williams on the show was hilarious. So guys like that would be great.
God, this is so awesome. There's no way it'll live up to my expectations but I'll take whatever I can get.
If they can get Greg Proops on board I will have to check it out.
I'M READY!
I am SO on board with this. Whose Line Is It Anyway? is one of the few shows that me and my family could watch and enjoy together. I think we've seen all the episodes at least 2-3 times, so I'm looking forward to new episodes. Hopefully the absence of Drew Carey doesn't lessen the amount of witty banter and chemistry.
