Odin

Background

Odin was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962. He is based on Odin, The wanderer of Norse Mythology. The mythological Odin is also very similar to the modern day character of Santa Claus, it has been said that Santa Claus is an amalgamation of Odin and the Dutch Sinterklaas.

During Hulk vs. Odin is in what is called Odinsleep, a time in which Aasgard's greatest warriors must defend their beloved homeland against such threats as Frost Giants, Loki, dark Elfs, etc.

Thor (2011)

Odin banishes Thor when he starts an ancient war in Asgard in hopes that his son will learn the error of his ways. Instead Thor becomes one of Earth's mightiest heroes.
