Planet of the Apes (2001)

Edit this Page
Tim Burton Director previously directed The World of Stainboy

A remake of the Charlton Heston movie, this movie drops the nuclear overtones in favor of a straight action movie, and the creation of a new continuity. It also was still Earth the whole time.

Overview:

A 2001 remake/reboot to the 1968 science fiction film Planet of the Apes. Keeping the motif of a crashed astronaut, this time played by Mark Wahlberg, who has somehow traveled through time and ends up on a planet ruled by apes where humans are hunted and kept as slaves. Directed by Tim Burton the movie did well at the box office but didn't match the fervor or the quality of the original.
