The Hunger Games return with such a sequel twist that you can't believe writer Suzanne Collins didn't think of film when writing. Catching Fire builds up with all types of subversive messaging which is interesting but also brings into relief the limitations of the genre and film.
Features a lot of references, including the same score, similar characters and some lines taken from the original. Also includes multiple scenes that directly call back to scenes from the original film.
Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet...as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers--mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members--human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Affiliation with Previous Movies in the Series
Predators, according to Robert Rodriguez, is meant to be a sequel to the first two films in the core predator series, Predatorand Predator 2. In fact, the movie's orchestral score, themes, and even some instances of dialogue are either homages to or direct copies from the first film.
