The Comic Strip Presents... was a parody series starting as one of Channel 4's opening night schedule. The first few episodes were 50-55 minute long specials with later instalments a regular 30 minutes. The majority of these were based on film conventions of the time with a few specific releases given entire episodes. It ran continuously from 1983-1993 with reunion specials in 1998, 2000 and 2005. The show shares many cast members with The Young Ones and the episode 'Mr. Jolly Live Next Door' would become the basis of 'Bottom'.
