Professor Layton jumps from the extra-small screen to the slightly larger screen in his first feature film. The movie takes place after the fourth game in the series, which makes it chronologically the second story in the world of Professor Layton.
Trivia:

Professor Layton was screened as part of the "Scotland Loves Anime" Film Festival. This was also the UK premier of the film. It was screened in the Glasgow Film Theatre - Glasgow, Scotland on October 9th 2010
