General Discussion » Alien or Aliens?

It's impossible to compare horror movie to an action movie. Both are excellent in their own right. I prefer Alien.

General Discussion » Cube [1997]

Cube and Hypercube are awesome movies. Sure, they aren't the creme de la creme as far as production quality goes, but I believe they are genuinely likable films. I started losing interest in the series with the third film.

Zachary Quinto » Zachary Comes Out!

I hope this isn't a calculated PR attempt to infuse his career with some much needed energy and attention.

General Discussion » Is "Boring" a Legitimate Film Criticism?

Absolutely not.  The only thing that makes a movie boring is the person watching it.

If you think a movie is boring, your loss.

Off-Topic » NY Bans Bar Dogs

Personally, I don't see how a responsible pet owner would risk taking his/her dog to a bar anyways.  There is a good chance the pet will get injured or worse - especially amongst drunkards and belligerent new yorkers.

Source Code » Like The Ending? *Spoilers*

i'm flabbergasted that people are debating whether colter died at the end.  i believe it's made entirely clear that the colter we're watching throughout the movie, let's call him colter-prime, has his life support turned-off.  while his mind is on the train (another reality), his corporeal body dies, but his mind remains alive in the alternate reality in the body of the teacher.  in that alternate reality, colter exists as a mutilated body waiting for his first source code mission AND in the body of the teacher.

Raiders of the Lost Ark » This film does not hold up in my opinion.

With all due respect, original poster, a 16 year-old's opinion on this matter isn't worth much.  Raiders is a masterpiece and if you can't see it, you are at a loss.

General Discussion » Non-subscribers - are we missing out?

I'm the type of person who doesn't regularly subscribe to a website.  My logic is that any money I put toward a site subscription can be better spent on movies, video games, or comic books - the very mediums that these whiskey-sites cover.

How much are non-subscribers missing out on?  There's a subscriber-only live show tonight, and I'll be honest, if it were open to everyone, I'd probably watch it for 30 mins at the very least.  How much of the live-shows are filled with real content related to the whiskey media sites?  The reason I ask is, as much as I love the staff at the various whiskey sites (which I do, Matt Rorie is at the top of my list of favorite whiskey personalities), I don't want to pay money to watch them drink beer and socialize.

So, are the live shows an essential part of the whiskey-media content delivery machine?

EDIT - Admittedly, I may have the wrong idea as to what occurs during a live show.  I'm making assumptions based on the big live show from last year, as well as a clip here and there from previous free live shows.

This isn't nearly as bad as the first few trailers that were released.

Off-Topic » Is it too late for me to start reading recreationally?

I'm part of the general masses who doesn't read recreationally.  Is it too late for me to start reading recreationally?  Will I become smarter by reading books?  I'm almost 30 and have lost something I can't quite define - but it's gone.  A sense of wonder - an open mind.

If only I could turn back the clock and live my life over again - oh the changes I would make.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon » Transformers Reused These Scenes from The Island

Howdy ho,

A friend of mine shared this video.  Despite having an incredible budget, it looks like Michael Bay cut some corners and reused some footage from a movie made 6 years ago.

Can't embed for some reason.

Is this a clever cost-saving trick or a dirty little secret?
