No I haven't seen it but atleast I admit that. I saw Rotten Tomatoes & the audience rating i 97%. Some people are calling it the greatest movie of all time. Is this just hype or is this movie really better than Forrest Gump, The Matrix, The Silence of the Lambs, The Shawshank Redemption, Taxi Driver, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction, & Rocky?

I'm not sure what generation you guys are from, but this is kinda a big deal for mine. Anyway, glad to bring the good news & if you are new to the franchise, watch 1 first, skip 2, watch 3, & the rest is up to you.

The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Django Unchained, Resident Evil: Retribution & The Hobbit aren't exactly what I'd call movies that girls/women will want to see. Maybe Moonrise Kingdom will attract both sexes? But that's about all I see from Hollywood right now, so it might be a good idea to be Single for 2012 & get back together in 2013.

*Fun Fact* The writer & director of The Avengers also wrote Alien: Resurrection. Pretty interesting considering Prometheus & The Avengers are going to be competing for Summer Blockbuster.

feel free to add Alien 3 & 4 to the discussion, I have nothing against them.

I know I know, the original is a classic slasher flick, while the sequel is a classic action flick. But now that Prometheus is coming out, I thought it would be a good idea to compare the two. Which one is better & why? Also, which one has aged the best & why?

I thought the Joker was more of a ploy for the audience than an actual villain. In other words, whenever he would show up on screen it would be like he was acting for camera, rather than what was on screen.

@TheFaithfullyDeparted: Watchmen was middle of the road. It got it's message across, but I couldn't stand Silk Spectre II's performance in this film & since she was in most of the scenes, it's almost cringeworthy.

@rem25: during the Ski scenes in Inception, you could not tell what was going on, because the camera was too shaky. Also when they were in the Taxi Cab, the shootout was blurry & shaky. As for The Dark Knight, I felt it was trying to be more than what it was. The joker was great however everything else was not.

As for Xmen:First Class, the pacing was also off in the beginning but it's main problem was Magmemto's origins. This is where X1 succeeded, in really proviing empathy for Magmeto as his parents are swept away from the gate. But the whole coin trick with Kevin Bacon made it sooo cartoony. As for X2, killing Cyclops was a bad plot device, as was Wolverine's final fight which was lame. X2 ...

@Suedehead: there were many problems with Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, most notibaly the pacing. Christopher Nolan's videography was also too shaky, you couldn't tell who was fighting who or who was winning the fight. You are just to assume Batman defeats all the enemies in his surroundings, just cuz he's Batman. The same problems occur in Inception, even though some of the cinematopgrahy was intriguing. As for Xmen:First ...

@Acura_Max: which is a downer, considering Robert Downey Jr. was excellent in Zodiac & entertaining in A Scanner Darkly.

Look at the recent Sherlock Holmes & Iron Man. Can you see difference between holmes & tony stark? I can't. Sure some director's stick to the source material, but not at the expense of the "modern" hollywood trend. I mean, in the Incredible Hulk there is a scene ripped straight from King Kong, & in Thor there is a scene ripped straight from The Day the Earth Stood Still.
