Movies I've Seen in 2011.

New year 'n' stuff. Some of these movies I will have already seen, some will be the first

1. The Big Lebowski

Watched this with some people I knew who had a Coen Brothers boxset. Still an amazing film.

2. Burn After Reading

Part of the boxset. I didn't love it the first time but I actually enjoyed it a lot more on second viewing. Classic CoBros.

3. The King's Speech

I really enjoyed it. I did fall asleep a little so I will need to see it again when I am in a fully conscious state.

4. Never Let Me Go

Saw it on a plane. Depressing but really good. Keira Knightley's a bitch.

5. The Town

Also a plane movie. I enjoyed it as an entertaining thriller, and not much else. Jeremy Renner and Petey P (RIP)'s characters were dicks, though.

6. The Kids Are All Right

Pretty good. I thought it dragged on a bit towards around the end of the second act, but I overall enjoyed it. It did seem a bit to angsty for it's own good sometimes.

7. Masculin, féminin

Saw it in my film studies class. Pretty much a French Holden Caulfield is in lo ve with a woman who's in love with two to other women. The dude walks around and people in the street are really weird. A lot of gunshots to signify chapters. I really like how it ended.

8. Blade II

Solid Guillermo del Toro action flick. Saw it before but not for a long time. Saw it with the Screening Room.

9. Black Swan

Why did it take me so long to see this? Regardless, pretty cool stuff mang. Trashy art cinema at it's finest.

10. The Green Hornet

Flawed but fun. I would recommend it.

11. The Killer

Saw it in film studies. Good stuff dawg.

12. The Host

Another film studies movie, but a movie I've intended to see for a while now. The end was some intense shit.

13. Run Lola Run

I saw this at The New Beverly Theater as a part of an even that Edgar Wright hosted. He talked about the movie, and read an e-mail Tom Twyker sent him. It was the first time I saw it, and was a good environment to see it in, but I had to wait like an hour to get in, so that kind of sucks.

14. Under the Same Moon

we watched this over the course of the last 2 months in Spanish when we didn't have any work to do. We finished watching it about a week ago, I just forgot to put it on here. It was a pretty good, emotional movie.

15. The Shining

Our film studies class watched the first half of this on Halloween, and since we had nothing to do in class on Tuesday, we finished watching it. I've seen it before, but it's still good ol' Kubrick.

16. Restrepo

Really good. Pretty much what you heard from everyone else.

17. Biutiful

I mostly agree with Alex, except that I somewhat enjoyed the movie. Sure, it's flawed, and Iñárritu is pretty much going "Okay, this awful and depressing thing happened, how can I beat that?" the whole movie, there's some worthwhile stuff in there. This is the first Iñárritu movie I saw, although I've heard Amores Perros and 21 Grams are great.

18. Barton Fink

I still love this movie.

19. Mother

Spa-Ghe-Tti

20. The Orphanage

Watched this over the course of a few weeks in Spanish. Second time I saw it, I realized that it's a bit dumber than you think at first. Still an effective horror movie.

21. Cedar Rapids

It's more of an indie comedy than The Hangover: Midwesterns are funny, but definitely well worth the watch. Great characters.

22. Once Upon a Time in America

Wait wait why didn't Deborah age?

23. I Am Number Four

Saw this at midnight for some reason. EHHHHHhh

24. Flesh and the Devil

yo people don't speak in this movie

25. Drive Angry

Oh Billy Fichtner. You so crazy!

26. Casino

Yay! A movie to cross off the pile of shame. I enjoyed this overall. Sometimes the pacing was a little to fast, and the movie came across one big montage, but it was good, even great. Some of the Sharon Stone stuff towards the end was hard to watch though. And yo, Martin Scorcese really likes The Rolling Stones.

27. The Adjustment Bureau

Saw this with my Mom and Grandparents. We all liked it, my mom the most. Entertaining, some kinda iffy plot stuff, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again a few years down the line.

28. Psycho

I can see how this was ballsy for it's time, but it plays off as pretty obvious now. Still a good movie.

29. Rango

Despite minor qualms I've had, the animation and charm made me enjoy this.

30. Battle: Los Angeles

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb movie. Somewhat good action and YAYY EXPLOSIONS. If you see it, and come on, you're gonna see it, you'll watch it. I was like 2 seats away from Steven Tyler while watching it so it made the whole alien invasion thing a bit more real.

31. Alien

Yup, this is still a good movie.

32. Paul

I enjoyed it a lot. By no means perfect, but fun. Nick Frost %26 Simon Pegg said this is the only movie they've made where they'd want to make a sequel, and I say "sure, why not?"

33. Sucker Punch

I went to the premiere. I'm so cool.

34. The Social Network

Just saw this again. Still a quality movie.

35. Paranormal Activity 2

Saw this cause one of my friends rented it. Pretty scary. I watched the director's cut if that means anything to you.

36. Let's Go to Prison

Was on Comedy Central in the background with friends. Made it through pretty much the whole thing, so I watched it, yeah. Not bad, but not too great either. Maybe it's funnier when not TV edited?

37. Win Win

Didn't love it, but it was definitely a charming movie, if a little predictable.

38. Source Code

Really good. I can see what everyone was saying about the ending (and where it could have ended,) but I was fine with how it wrapped up.

39. Mystery Team

Showed this to a friend. I saw it last year and got to meet Derrick Comedy. Still a pretty funny movie.

40. How to Get Ahead in Advertising

Weird movie. My mom showed it to me. I have a feeling a remake starring Will Arnett will happen one day.

41. The Conversation

Gene Hackman is like the coolest dude.

42. Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

WOW. This is like the quintessential kidnapping gone wrong movie.

43. Hanna

Really, really cool. Also, great title sequence, even if only a second long.

44. Your Highness

Didn't really like it. Disappointing, as I like the people associated with it.

45. The Producers

watched this one day when I couldn't sleep. Funny movie.

46. Splendor in the Grass

Saw this in Film Studies. Pretty much the moral of the story is if you don't have sex you will go crazy.

47. Arthur

Honestly don't know why I saw this. Pretty bad.

48. 2001: A Space Odyssey

Saw this in Film Studies. It's maybe the 3rd time I've seen it. I kinda love this movie but a lot of people hated it.

49. 13 Assassins

Holy shit is that fight scene awesome.

50. Easy A

50th movie I saw this year! Yay?

great list, Barton Fink is one of my favorite movies ever, and the movie that single-handedly transformed my love for movies into an obsession.

I like all the comments about falling sleep; kept thinking 'this dude needs some red bull' ;)
