Arrested Development alone makes Netflix worth the price of admission. And Mad Men. And Breaking Bad. And Justified. And Lost.

@smi1ey said:This makes me happy. With the millions spent on marketing and the mind-numbing special effects, I assumed that the mindless consumers would flock to it like they have with the god-awful Transformers trilogy. The fact that this tanked makes me happy. Is there still a glint of hope for modern culture?!No. Don't take these things on a case-by-case basis. Culture is as fucked as it's ever been.

@litrock said:@Brendan: Yeah, I knew about that stuff going in, but ... so what? I know it's kind of a bigger philosophical discussion than this one movie, but some people need/want the artists they appreciate to be moral people and other people don't. Is being super racist bad? Sure. Do I think that detracts from his work or the craft shown in the film? Not for a single second. I ...

Ugh, I don't know if I can watch this. After researching about the subject of this movie upon seeing the trailer I don't think I could sit through a a film that makes such a gross racist out to be some great person. Everything I've heard about this Sushi master makes him sound like a deporable human being.

Pete' had one of the most bad-ass lines in any Mad Men episode ever "That is what I do." That's all I'm going to say about Sunday's episode.

I'm pretty that the pact is if one of them gets a job in a different agency they won't leave the other. Seems kinda left field.Ken was the one who was most accepting of Peggy when she became a copywriter if I remember correctly, so I'm guessing they've always been good friends.

In response to your further comment about who is worse, I would say Ratner. I don't dislike either to the hyperbolic levels that some internet folk do, but Bay has technical chops that I don't think Ratner possesses. Bay is extremely talented in some areas of movie making, but he never seems to have the whole package.

How is Safe House still in the top ten? It's the ultra-marathoner of movies at this point.

Great write-up. I assumed that the Peggy and Dawn scene was about racial tension, considering the focus on her purse that was between them the whole time. It seemed to me that Peggy tried to succeed, but failed, at accepting Dawn entirely, and in being who she wanted to be. I think her disappointment at the end showed her realizing how alike her male bosses and coworkers she was, confirming ...
