Since I don't live in the city any more, I am hoping for a quick streaming/Blu-Ray release for this film. I just recently saw Martha Marcy May Marlene and thought it was incredible - hoping to feel the same of this film. It looks like I will.

Don't get me wrong, I love 24 - but if you're going to marathon a show, you should be marathoning The Shield. One of the best dramas out there - shades of The Wire and Sons of Anarchy and the real triumph of Walton Goggins (although his work on Justified is great, too).

@litrock: Yeah, agreed on that point. I'm looking more on a superficial level in terms of what the arguments have been. People have decried Luhrmann for no real reason. Gatsby should be flashy, as long as that flash is backed up by the in-depth character arcs that the story demands. Gatsby is one of my favorite novels to teach so I hope he does it justice.

The new trailer for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby was released today. This 3D take on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic looks to be a flashy, modernist take on the source material. There's a lot of potential riding on the cast of this adaptation, and I am excited to see more.
